This is almost on some which is worst, drowning or burning type shit. But just(using the word "just" loosely) being accused of rape still leaves you with a chance for exoneration, and continuing/starting a relatively prosperous life, especially if you already have some paper, fame, and or some strong foundations of goodwill built up.

Kobe, Pac, Tyson,(no hate, I'm a fan of all three) and others have been accused and/or convicted and still were able to maintain their careers, ability to get paid, and for the most part, their fans.

Shit, you can be accused of pedophilia, but if you have high contributions to entertainment, financial success, politics, or religion you have a chance of juking the accusations to a high degree, AND having supporters that'll still fuck with you. Now obviously for the common man it can be harder to shake a rape accusation, depending on the details and circumstances. But an accusation is still just an accusation, and not everybody is going to automatically believe it's true. Whereas a rape is a done deal, no take backs, and you'll have to deal with it for life(not even talking about the stds you might contract).

Of course being falsely convicted and imprisoned, entering the pen as a "rapist" (thus leading to possible further problems while locked up) is why I made the drowning/burning comparison(IE they both suck).
