Du, that's cause this is weird. One thing is bad. The other thing is also really bad. So, the only thing it accomplishes is supporting other people's attempts to minimize what happened to another person. Like, "Well, you may have been falsely accused of rape. But at least you weren't raped!" Then we dismiss the bad thing that happened because it's not bad enough.

blacks often tend to not have as much faith in the judicial system. a rape may not be reported to police for rape statistics, but they may be told to a brother, father, uncle, or friend who may feel the need to take justice into their own hands.....and ultimately the only statistic that may get recorded in that scenario is the violence that is at the end of that accusation. now this is not something that can be clearly documented, but i'm not even going to pretend i never heard of a story in my personal circle where someone was beaten, or even killed because of a rape. when you introduce the possibility that the accusation was false.....it goes back to the original question......because now this is not even about the laws and legal punishment involved.....this about the greater human wrong

We can discuss absolutely anything, which is why I said "I'll play," but the only context in which the answer would be useful would be some contrived hypothetical situation where you have to choose one or the other. Notice, we're discussing the consequences of rape accusations, as if rape is some one-and-done deal. What if you contracted HIV during your rape? What if you were accused of rape and weren't charged? How about this: "Would you rather be accused of rape, or actually raped and accused of lying about it?"

So sure, we can participate in the thread while simultaneously pointing out why this is a bit silly.

I'm disappointed that this we didn't include some outlandish hypothetical giving you exactly this choice. A rapist is at house party picking off victims "...if you flee the scene you'll be assumed to be the rapist, but if you stay you'll get raped". The question is pointless.

You really can't compare this. They are both definitely violations of your life. One is a violation of the most personal intimate level though, and I'm sure most men can't relate to having your body physically being forced inside of.
