Regardless of what you think the answer to this question is. There is one undeniable truth. Many media outlets backtracked and tried to build Vick up afterwards as some kind of redemption story. Sandusky will never get that treatment.

Well Vick was sentenced to 2 years, whereas Sandusky was sentenced to 442 years. So Vick had the opportunity to come home and get his life 'back'.

Secondly, Vick harmed dogs, not children. HUGE difference.

What is your point? Mine is that what Sandusky did is worse than what Vick did and the media would never set him up for a redemption story. Seems like you're trying to counter my argument by saying the same thing.

Even if Sandusky was getting out in the near future, the media would not turn around and try to rehabilitate his image like it did with Vick. Sandusky would be at best be forgotten and at worst be a pariah forever.

On another note, I hope no one is saying Vick got it worse than Paterno is now. They are straight shitting on that man's legacy. He deserves it an all, but damn, it's crazy for 60+ years of work being flushed down the toilet in a matter of months.

Does anyone think Vick is actually sorry for what he did? I don't think he is at all. It doesn't really bother me at all, just wondering what ya'll think.

I would say paterno and sandusky, but rightfully so. Vick should never have even went to jail for animal cruelty. he was only killing pitbulls, who cares.

yeah, they are seriously talking about death penalty. or something close.

its a difference when tucker carlson says some shit, but he has no say in the matter, he is irrelevant except to people who think he represents white america. the NCAA just might have a say. Many people in the media are talking as if Penn State should have severe penalties that effect thousands of students and athletes who had nothing to do with it.

talk of suspending a player is nowhere near as bad as talk of killing a football program.

i know the crimes are different, fighting dogs is nowhere near as bad as touching kids.

people got blinders on when they say penn st isn't being slammed the way vick was by the media, fans, and the governing body of the sport.

the case maybe had more coverage, it had more discussions, it had more panels on tv...but thats because the dogfighting stuff is an interesting topic and can be talked about in a number of ways. Especially about the culture of the dogfighting and how vick was raised that way.

But don't nobody on tv wanna have a roundtable discussion about how sandusky was raised to rape boys or discuss the culture of pedophilia.

ur diet bill simmons

There is a difference between getting caught and confessing. No one can say whether or not he is sorry but he is most likely sorry he got caught. Then again, he thinks it was a good thing that he went to prison so he could change his life.

like most anyone else who is involved in something wrong, that they don't view as being wrong.

he's probably sorry that he got caught. this would still be going on if nobody got caught.

SMH @ cats consigning what Vick did. It was wrong and cruel plain and simple. He did his time, turned his life around and now he's become an advocate against animal cruelty. That's why he's regained his position that he had lost.

Paterno and Sandusky will NEVER EVER be remembered for anything aside from a monster.

I hate when people say, "they were only dogs", that shit pisses me off. People have no respect for any life period.

Life is life homey. Unless you're taking a life for sustenance or to protect your own life, there is something wrong, IMO. I'm not churchy or anything, but I do believe that God put everything here for a reason and I don't feel that I or any other human has the right to take life from anything that lives and breathes for that reason.

I think he is. I'm not going to say that he believes all the stuff that he's been saying. That said, I do believe at some point he's reflected on his life and has some remorse for all of his screw-ups.
