Who handled rap beef the WORST?

Meek Mill not only instigated his own rap beef with the most vulnerable man in rap, but failed to clearly and plainly win the battle despite having one of the most acclaimed careers in all of rap battle culture. He then let it spiral into an even worse situation when Joe Budden, Game, and Beanie Sigel All got involved in their own way. Meek's only response? "They hate on my money and my girlfriend"

Lil Kim had the advantage of veteran and legendary status when taking on newcomer Nicki Minaj, who no one could deny was heavily influenced by Kim. Yet, instead of at least hiring a ghost writer to pen a scathing record to articulate what countless fan made memes show comparing the wigs, barbie gimmicks, and business relationship with Diddy, Kim played herself into 'flabby and sick/old and hating' territory.

All Ja Rule had to do was ignore 50. FBI raid or not, if Ja had simply ignored 50's obvious ploy to usurp his position in rap, there wouldn't have been countless disses from Eminem, D12, G-Unit, Obie Trice, Busta Rhymes, and the legion of Shady/Aftermath stans fueled by the Interscope machine. Even his most vicious line "Em, you claim your mother's a crackhead...." line is just a footnote because he wouldn't just look the other way. A mistake his peer Jay Z never made.

If we're talking lyrics, Budden wouldn't belong on this list. But because he's so hellbent on sticking a camera in his face, Ransom knocked on his friend's door and punched him in the face and years later, Raekwon's muscle would do the same thing to Budden. Unfortunately, we would never get to see Joey and Method Man go at it on the mic. I can't help but feel as if Budden is his own worst enemy and the main reason the only thing people can say about him is "...at least he can rap"

I didnt see ja rule at first glance...but blood in my eye is hard...Meeks disses are far worse

And budden doesn't belong on this list

Tupac has a classic line on a classic song:

"Run a train on Mobb Deep. Don't fuck with me.

Nigga you barely living. Don't you got sickle cell?

See me, have a seizure on stage. You ain't feeling well."

Years later, Jay Z would immortalize Prodigy both on stage and on wax:

"I don't care if you Mobb Deep, I hold triggers to crews.

You little FUCK, I've got money stacks bigger than you

When I was pushin weight, back in eighty-eight

you was a ballerina I got your pictures I seen ya

Then you dropped "Shook Ones," switch your demeanor

Well - we don't believe you, you need more people"

Where are Prodigy's classic and memorable responses? Exactly.

And Yung Berg said something about Detroit rappers which got his chain snatched. His chain would go on to tour more than Berg ever could, changing more hands than a dollar bill.

50 cent's sociopathic ways led to the destruction of an entire coast. He's as close to Marlo rising to prominence on the wire as there is in hip hop. He wanted to be king of his house and destroy all in his path so much that he ended up burning the house down for his crown. Now his own city is struggling for an identity in hip hop(which I thought would never happen) and he himself barely has ground to stand on musically. Without power, 50's on a milk carton.

I don't see why 2Pac isn't one of the choices.

Pac was the first rapper to alienate people and make people pick sides. Anybody who was rolling with Pac in 96 isn't doing anything now.

That wasn't Pac. That was Suge Knight. Pac himself chose a side when he signed to Deathrow.

Damn between the choices was torn between Kim and Rule ran with Rule because he lost the most immediately Kim was OG status when she took her Loss to Nikki but she was not really making moves. Rule was in his prime and was swept out by his choices...

I'm not understanding how Biggie handled it bad.

He virtually ignored Pac. Going to California was extremely stupid, but him getting killed was a matter of circumstances more than rap beef with a man that was already dead.

Cosign. Biggie handled it like a professional. He threw a few subliminals and kept it moving.

In the premise of this thread I'd say Biggie handled it better than Pac.

Well in essence he threw the 1st shot in the beef with who shot ya, he did not take any opportunity he had available to talk and squash the beef with Pac before Pac started swinging with lyrical shots, he played up the subliminals and kept throwing rocks than hiding his hand he dissed Bay rappers than copped pleas and was given one pass to leave Cali alive than like an dummy kept talking reckless and went back to Cali again after things had intensified. To me that is epitome of not playing your position properly and beefing bad or he was just an idiot not sure which most likely a combo of all of the above and than some...

Biggie handled it like a pro.

The difference is that cats on the East Coast didn't take the East/West beef seriously. It was a joke and people thought Pac was off his medication.

But cats on the West Coast, especially California took it seriously, like it was a matter of life and death.

I know I was about 22/23 years old when all of this was going down. I remember the Vibe Magazine interview and I thought 2Pac had gone stark raving mad.

Truth be told I wasn't into Pac or Biggie. I was into more underground stuff like Wu Tang, DITC, Bootcamp Click and Gang Starr. I thought Pac and Biggie were "too commercial". I didn't understand that people took it that seriously.

The DeathRow Badboy beef is what it should be known as and a couple of facts you kats neglect is 1st diss came from Badboy with Who Shot ya 1st blood was drawn when Jake Robles was killed they were pulling snake moves from behind the scenes talking slick and shit just kept escalating but they used their media connections to attempt to spin public perception and a lot of you peons to this day are still eating it up. Biggie continually made shit worse and had every opportunity to clear the air and get right with his former friend but chose not to he chose his path and played the sucka in the end as Puffy let him be a sacrificial lamb. Plenty of violence and deaths happened on both coasts but only the shit in the wild west is still talked about...

Which came 1st the chicken or the egg? Kats that had access to the music and ran Biggies Circle Robbed Pac and Shot him in the same manner as the song so Pac took it as a diss and Biggie never made any attempt while Pac was alive to squash that thought process so it is what it is a diss. Matter of fact the whole circle just took more subliminals indirect sucka shots on tracks and interviews after Pac expressed his beliefs about the song so Pac came out swinging" Who Shot me but you Punks did not finish now your about to feel the wrath from a menace". All this shit was intentional because they thought Pac was a wrap in Rikers damn they were wrong he went out with a bang and in the process exposed the bitch in lot of yall...
