Black people are incarcerated at a rate 6X more than that of white people. And while in there, for the same crimes, the sentencing is about 20% longer. We're actually on pace to have about 33% of black men see jail in their lifetime. Hello broken windows policing and stop and frisk.

Schooling. Ah, schooling. Where white students get about 700 more dollars spent on them. Where, just like prison, black kids are punished, suspended and expelled at a rate that exceeds their white peers for the same offenses. About 5x more likely to be suspended, for example. In 2016, you'd like to just start fresh and try to move forward and treat people equally/individually and no make blanket statements but the effects of white supremacy are all around us and will not allow us to just move forward like it doesn't exist..

There is something people need to get over when reading things on the internet. Nobody is going to constantly type qualifiers like some, many, or most. You're supposed to get things from context. No one in here is saying that every white person is a card carrying member of the KKK. The sentiment in this topic and others is that most whites hold some kind of racism and they act on that racism to varying degrees.

All that said, @"Mrs. Me Too" one thing you need to understand is that it is impossible for blacks to know which whites are racist and which aren't because it is a very common thing for whites who seem cool or seem to get along with blacks to turn around and say some racist shit when no blacks are around or when they are mad at a particular black person for some reason or another. Given that behavior, sometimes it just makes more sense to treat all whites as if they are that way until proven otherwise. That way you save yourself from having to deal with the mystery and the potential betrayal.

I wouldn't say all white people are bad. That's stupid. I will say that all white people have the potential to go into super racist mode. It's not really like that for minorities. Regardless of what is said in here, black people don't really treat all white people like racists even when we think that's mostly true. Like if we know a white person is a racist, we might not have anything but hostility for that person. We might suspect that the next person we meet is the same way, but we won't necessarily treat that person the same until it's verified. Whites are completely different. Many of you can be cool as hell with black people until one black person does you wrong, then you treat us all as if we did you wrong.

I wasn't clear with what I meant. When I say "done you wrong" I don't mean call you a name or cut you off in traffic. Yeah, lots of whites can deal with that without letting out their inner racist. I'm talking about more substantial things like a black person robbing you. The majority of white people do tend to hold all blacks accountable when they or someone they are close to goes through a significantly traumatic experience involving a black person.
