What would that prove? That's equivalent to a black dude calling you nigga, in contrast to a white dude calling you nigga. It completely changes the context of the statement.
Not equivalent at all.
It does not scale.
Someone using a single isolated term to either evoke Endearment ... OR evoke Racism
DOES NOT EQUAL
Someone making several generalizations and coveying a sentiment invalidating the experience of a whole demographic of people.
Are you implying that Tariq was conveying a sentiment of endearment towards Black Women by claiming that they enjoyed getting raped by their slave masters?? ...
Please explain that to me...
My point was, a black person saying something about his own people and a white person saying something about black people completely changes the context.... OBVIOUSLY. Sometimes it's best to keep it simple.
My point is that we should not withhold criticism and excuse the behavior of individuals simply becuse they are black and/or they are relateable.
If a stream of consciousness would be deemed abhorrent coming from a white man that we hate ...
That EXACT SAME stream of consciousness should also be scrutinized coming from a black man that we relate to.
Scrutinized sure, discredited then demonized, absolutely not.
Then you have to take into consideration the dynamic between white people and black people. Generally speaking, white people have been proven to despise black people and wish them/us nothing but harm, so when they say suspect shit about black people, it's absorbed completely different than if a different group of people says the same.
