Food carriers are at the bottom of the totem pole when it comes to reward-worthy duties.

Other jobs have easily-discernible ways in which customer expectations can be exceeded as a direct result of the individual employee's actions.

Food carriers don't even cook the food; and if they don't deliver the food as ordered, there is nothing to pay for in the first place.

It's like tipping a cashier at McDonald's for getting your order right and giving you an extra ketchup packet.

logic would dictate the ones preparing or handling your meal would be at the top

when it comes to customary expectations

for self explanatory reasons

The cooks prepare the food bruh, not the food carriers.

So I'd tip the actual person that cooked a good meal before tipping the person who simply delivered it to me.

Shit, cashiers at McDonald's carry food to the counter as well.

UPS/Fedex/USPS workers carry packages to my door; they don't get tipped, and those packages are worth much more than a meal.

UPS is gonna break whatever you have if you order from them again. /tipping-logic.

For the idiots saying "they only carry the food" the cooks are usually paid a percentage of the tips or they're paid a proper wage if its an upscale location.

Bitch/broke nigga shit. If you liked the food and the service was good why not tip. Then you making a thread like you on some trill shit. Foh.

niggas will try to floss any given chance they get. Nigga, I never tip. Never have, never will. Them waitresses can be a goddamn secretary if she wanted to. No one told them bitches to drop out and be single mothers out of high school. Just remember, Jack calls you a "nigger" behind your back.

So you won't tip because "jack" calls you nigger but you'll eat from his hand? I hope you choke on your food... tonight.

Why are we paying people to do their job? Because it's custom and tradition? Religion is custom and tradition as well, doesn't mean it's right. There are many customs and traditions that I disagree with. Tipping is foolish and the only reason people do it is because they are afraid of getting their food played with. I can't think of any other legal establishment where extortion is acceptable.

so do you tip your barber?

I did once. Woman fixed up a bad haircut I got a couple days before and didn't charge, so I gave her some money.

Think of it as you're paying the restaurant for the food and you're paying the waitress for his/her services (bring food to table, refill drinks, clear table, etc.). You actually go to restaurants for their food not for their service. No one says, lets go to this restaurant because they have good service, but the food is terrible. If you we're on a date and you and your date had to grab your own food and drinks and clear you're own table while everyone else in the restaurant chose the tipping waiter option I bet you would be happy to tip. People need to stop being proud of being ignorant.

You can't compare servers to people working at mcdonald's though. McD's workers are at least making minimum wage, server's make like $2.50 an hour BEFORE taxes.

so him not tipping for a service which customary here

That everyone regardless of skin tone knows to observe

Is him taking a stance on poverty?

Are you mentally retarded?

So if everyone jumps off of a bridge, he should as well? I don't care if something is customary if it's stupid. Do you know what a tip is? Why are forcing gratuity? Why are we paying people extra to do their job? Maybe he's challenging a dumb custom, and I don't see anything wrong with that. Now if you have to resort to insults because you don't have an argument, then let me know so I know not waste time on your ass.

challenging a custom would involve calling a congressman and saying waiters need to make more than $3.50 per hour

Not laughing a waitress while she's in tears after she's served you and your date

And then making a thread about it expecting a gold star

And for the record it's not a insult if its true

Actually you dont need to call your congressman to improve what restaurants pay their waiters. If every customer stopped tipping, eventually most waiters would quit their job in order to find another job that pays better. In response to so many waiters quiting, restaurants will start to pay minimum wage in order to hire waiters. But doing it this way is the cold hearted dipshit way

and of course I am not a scumbag cheap pompous asshole. So if i dont have the money to tip, i dont go to eat at a restaurant.
