Here i go again making another bitch famous , mightve been the best bar of the battle

The soda flip/scheme was cold

The John John/street fighter scheme was dope

Talk about whens my last hit, niggas wheres ur first one

Carpet/sweep it under the rug bar was mean

He had some shit, his delivery was wack tho.

STOP MY TIME!!

I'm honestly shocked you niggas was feeling Joe's rhymes. I mean, not only was the shit lame and corny, but they had no real substance.

Take the energy drink scheme:

"If its too much caffeine ill have him sent to me

That bull will be red when I send monster cans from 5 of ours in a g"

I mean, c'mon, that shit is hard? That's good wordplay? I've seen IC niggas write harder shit than that. Not only is he tryna force double entendres when they don't really work ("five of ours in a G" and "5 hour energy" is a pretty embarrassing reach if you ask me), but it's like nursery book rhymes. Nothing he said here is how anybody would say anything in real life.

I mean, shit, what can I say. To each his own I guess.

Yea I agree, but at first he had it going on, but ended it with that bullshit...

Budden would of got booed straight out the gate with those bars if he was on SMACK.

Co-sign to this shit too.

He had zero presence... tho he had some good jabs here and there, his haymakers were missed.

I felt Hollow slapped him up first round, and that was enough to seal the deal for me. The rnb scheme and Dennis Rodman/bulls line slapped Joe hard enough. The rest were light jabs (for the most part) but enough to get the win. Probably Hollow's 2nd weakest if not weakest battle.

I personally think his battle with Hitman was boring lol.

"I went from TV to the battle stage, 'bout to have a hit again

I'm just tryna milk the game, dairy, go on that shit again"

The fact the audience was mixed crowd was good thing. No dickriding and bias. Overall if you didn't like battle rap or just a causual observer this shit is not going to make you fan or gain any new ones (it's intended purpose).

The only way it will blow up is if any of these battle mc's make it in music.

Until then it will stay where its at online /youtube with played out gun verses and over the top corny theatrics while spitting.

Theres not too many niggas alive who can come up with the shit i be cookin tho b, we gotta be fair.

Why does every battle always seem to have problems with the mics and sound system? That shit is annoying and the crowd never shuts up when they supposed to.

I was hyped for the Mook and Lux battle they two of my favs. Mook was getting him but Lux stuck to his game plan.

I hope Lux goes back and tightens some things up before his next battle. Because from now on every battle niggas is gonna do what Hollow and Mook did with the pointing out Lux style and imitating him in they bars.

I aint buying that..Joe losing his cool saved him from an L..I watched every battle..and I called them all straight up and down..Ars bodied Big T,Trex beat Daylyt,Murda Mook Destroyed Lux,and I had Joe up 2-0 until he got in his feelings...It's pretty much popular opinion..I aint coming out of left field with this lol..

Popular opinion by what standards? Every consensus I've seen on battle rap boards has Hollow winning 2-1. You can't win a battle off one round. Of course the Joe Buddens fans that don't know shit about battle rap support him. He's more popular so he might get more points from the masses, but I don't respect a consensus that doesn't know battle rap.

Twitter,Battle Rappers themselves, polls online on different sites etc...and I myself saw Joe Budden take the 1st 2 rounds of that battle...I'm far from A Joe Budden fan..but Joe sonned him in the 1st round..2nd round he got busy.and the crowd was loving that shit..and you can't say they were biased in favor of Joe..because that same crowd caused Joe to lose focus and put his mic down..So there's that

I never made the argument that the crowd is biased. Of course, while we're on the topic, that doesn't mean the crowd is always right either, particularly that crowd. I thought Lux should've gotten more love. I think he would have in another venue.

As for twitter, what of it? I've seen numerous niggas on twitter, rappers themselves, polls online, and the actual judges from the event that called it Hollow 2-1 or 3-0. More importantly, battle rap communities poll in favor of Hollow, but everyone acknowledges both came weak. If you want to convince me that Joe Budden beat Hollow, you ain't going to make a convincing case by pointing out that there are other people that agree with you. I can do that too.

i'll put it this way..If you factor in stage presence and Hollow Invading Budden's space or whatever the case may be...then yeah...cool..but if you talking bars and who's shit was more potent and caught on with the people Joe won those 1st 2 rounds. He carved Hollow up with that rock em to sleep flow..and since when in battle rap does crowd reaction not matter?lol..you can't be serious

Crowd reaction does not matter if you can follow the bars enough to form your own opinion. IDK how often you watch battles...doesn't sound like too often. Crowds are out of touch and/or slow and simple in many cases. With this type of event I'm sure there were many ppl who don't watch a lot of battles, they just came b/c of the hype of this event and the names behind it.

Hollow was clearly more creative with bars. Just because all of his bars didn't get a clear reaction from the ppl there doesn't mean he wasn't spittin' some nice shit. Joe's bars were just slow and extra easy to follow so ppl knew it was their cue to cheer. Here's three bars that got no reaction when Hollow said them:

1. "You was on Sportscenter, recorded on First Take / This sport centered around us recordin' on first take"

That was some slick shit. Something Joe should have considered before he got emotional and dropped the mic in the third round. After he was acting like it's so easy to do he lost his composure.

2. "This not a smart move for ya boss who employed you / for not shuttin' this down y'all should fire Marshall"

No explanation needed b/c it isn't even complex. Thats a decent bar. 0 crowd reaction.

3. Not verbatim but the "Home alone...set ups all over the place" bar

Hollow was more creative with bars and he was more versatile with his delivery.

First half of the first and most of the second for Joe was pretty good for Joe in terms of his rhymes. You can't only bring rhymes to a battle. You have to deliver them with the proper intensity to get the point across. It's not just what you say, it's how you say it. One cadence, one flow, one speed, puts people to sleep and it can lessen the impact of one's words.

Just watched Joe vs Hollow. Man that shit is on Mook vs Iron status. Hollow won though. The crowd was wack and neither emcee made it better. Joe was feelin himself wayyy too much. Thats the worst ive ever seen Hollow
