Jay-Z - 'Magna Carta Holy Grail'

I was always torn on Dead Presidents III cause it was just a snippet and I always wanted the full song. I chalked it up as a mixtape cut and didn't think nothing of it. Why did he not put this on one of his albums? What was he thinking?

Jay Z took Mase flow and lyrics on the first few Bars of BBC then used a play on words of name dropping him and reffering to his Madison square Garden incident with R Kelly. Jay is one of the best in the business at flipping others lyrics. LOL

Yo, what you know about goin' out / Head west, red Lex, TV's all up in the headrest.

Jay was paying homage to the 90's hardbody on "Holy Grail". Biggie lyrics and samples. Ma$e Lyrics. Juvinelle Lyrics. Using Timbaland for the majority of his production for the 1st time since Vol 3 which was released in the late 90's. One of the biggest reasons I love the album is he was clearly making Nods to the Era I grew up in. Jay's flow on "BBC" is Classic Vintage Jay really. As soon as he started rapping I felt like I was a teen in the 90's again. The Ma$e bars was the icing on the cake.

Jigga shouldve drop that DP3 on AG or BP3.

DP3>> anything on BP3 and MGHG

"Dead Presidents III" would easily be one of the best songs on either album. This was a wasted song in my opinion. Just even said they used the 2nd verse on a different song. They dropped the ball. This reminds me of "Streets of New York: NY State of Mind III" being on Alicia's album instead of one of NaS's albums.

I agree that Jay was paying homage but I disagree with the notion that BBC is vintage Jay flow. He switched up a little in the song. Also, vintage Jay was much more direct and quick hitting.

jay the only rapper i know that can keep people listening to his album even if they hate it

niggas be mad af, swinging at the air while having picaso baby on repeat

That was me, after three days I just stopped fighting it! lol

I don't like "Beach Is Better" though, and I haven't heard anybody say they do.

He could have left that one off the album.

Beach is better is my shit. Both of the interludes are cold. The album as a whole is sick to me. Part 2 is a beautiful song. In my opinion it's the best collab he and Beyonce has done together. I've been playing this album since it came out.

so jay said this is his 4th best album, i think most people can agree with that

I really wanna just chill and enjoy this album for what it is, but seeing shyt like this i just can't

RD, BP, AG, Vol 2, BA

Please tell me how MCHG is better than Not 1, but two of the albums above

And thats before we even get to vol. 1 and dynasty which I still aint ready to conceed just yet

And of course Jay z is gonna say its one of his bests...its his new album

Why cant you accept that ppl really enjoy this album? Enough to rank it amongst some of his best. It's their opinion. There are so many factors that go into ranking albums so what makes it so far-fetched that it could be his 4th best?

Lyrically AG is better, overall it isnt outlandish to consider MCHG a better album. Its more cohesive and the content is more on par of where Jay is at now. Plus this shit doesnt contain a garbage 16 from Wayne. AG for as good as an album it was, was a safe album.

So that's already a case in which 1 of those albums you're up in arms over can be deemed lower than this latest one.

I have to cosign you... also say what they want about BP3 but I still haven't heard a track on MCHG that is musically superior to Empire state of Mind, thank you, and what we talking about.
