Be different if he conceded in a debate where someone showed him the error in his thinking.

No they gave him a script and he read it. And they patted him on the head like a good little monkey, then put his ass on punishment

Dude is quick to call out execs for firing black coaches or not interviewing them. Calls out white people for getting hired without experience too...

But as usual... Black dude that you can't agree 100% with is a coon...

C'mon. He defended white ppl racial profiling black kids just for wearing attire they're not familiar with lol. The nigga is a coon. By that logic, Zimmerman and a gang of racist cops are justified in murdering black kids, all cuz they "chose" to wear suspicious clothing (hoodie). A black man condoning this, in front of white america, gets no sympathy

People are kinda exaggerating his point. He wasn't defending white people for racial profiling. He was simply acknowledging that it exists and suggesting that young blacks should consider that when they go out and present themselves. I'm not saying he's right, but it is different than what some of ya'll are accusing him of.

It's sort of like when rape topics come up and someone suggests that women should stop dressing like sluts and getting stupidly drunk if they want to decrease their chances of being raped, and then someone comes along and accuses that person of excusing the rapist. Those aren't the same thing.

Everybody knows racial profiling exists but that's not the issue. The problem is him taking the attention away from Cuban's prejudice remarks and shifting the focus on what black people are doing wrong. Yes we know we have to be mindful of our surroundings, yes we know whites illogical fears of us could lead to us dying (Trayvon) yes we know due to stereotypes that when they see blacks in certain outfits they automatically think we're up to no good. But that wasn't the time or place for that discussion to be had. The real issue was Cuban and his remarks, and it shouldn't have went anywhere else.

Same exact thing that is happening now. People took "make sure you do nothing to provoke any of this because it occurs" to mean "Stephen A Smith says women do shit to get their asses beat!".

Because he sheds light on the other side of things he's labeled a coon or supports domestic violence.

Nah. That's not why he's labeled a coon. It would take a titangraph to bring you up to speed with the line of thinking but I ain't willing to put in that effort at this time

So what was the point of taking the effort to type this up and change the font color then?

Agreed. Not to mention for all the "coon" allegations, he's spoke up in defense of black folks numerous times.

Yeah I get where you are coming from. My thing is his recent actions are distasteful. And if someone was puffing their chest up on all issues, but humble quickly when someone told them to shut the fuck up, then to me that is bitch made. Why get humble now? When black colleagues and such were calling him out, he didn't care. Now some white person calls him out, even though he is right, he backs down. Foh

Yeah I hear you, and I don't disagree.

Ehhh, I don't completely buy that, but I can agree that the remarks that he made are best left in private when you're trying to give advice to young blacks rather than being made on a national stage where whites can use it to justify their irrational fears.

So we can both agree he was wrong for saying that the way he did, but I don't think he was cooning. In his mind he was looking out for the safety of young black males. Like it or not, it's a logical conclusion. If wearing hoodies is going to get you shot, stop wearing hoodies. It's not the message I would push, but whatever.

Stephen A. Smith said NOTHING wrong. If a woman hits a man, IT PROVOKES A MAN to hit back.

Self defense is only okay for women now??? Michelle Beadle is a dumb fucking cunt

Hitting back isn't needed to neutralize a flailing female. Of course there are outliers, but a female isn't going to seriously hurt you. Hold 'em off like you would any child, elderly person, or little shit dog who thinks physically attacking an able-bodied adult male is a smart idea.

Damn this got buried lol I agree with this, right down to the catchall caveat "there are outliers". I aint readin pages 8-14 of this thread, but i'm positive its turned into another 'Yo these women are infringin on our rights, we need to start fighin back'. Straight fukin pitiful.

Once a-gain i'll quote Chris Rock who is like 100-0 in the logic department:

'There's never a reason to hit a woman? Sheeeeit. There's a reason to hit anyyybody. Just-dont-do it. Theres a reason to hit a old lady down a flight of stairs. Just-dont-do it.'

A lot of yall expose yourselves as little nggas and/or nggas w/ nothin to lose. Knowing full well that the justice system is in favor of women, and that there's a good chance i could go to jail---like, JAIL, my ngga---why would i jeopordize that when i could literally wrap her in 1 arm and tell her to calm her happy ass down.

A lot of yall sound like you cant WAIT for a bytch to try you. U got that shyt pent up, and that shyt aint normal.

That really isn't what most of the conversation was about. You're acting like this was 8 pages of niggas crying because they can't knock a female out. That's not the case at all.

Im lazy so i aint readin back but bruh...you sure? Lol From up to page 8 and previous threads I def do know that sentiment exists here tho.

Yeah the sentiment exists here, but I'd say most of the responses revolve around people bashing SAS for being so quick to buckle even though he claims he doesn't do that for anyone and his point actually had some merit.

Telling an individual not to hit someone unless you are prepared to potentially be hit back is logical

Telling a black person to change their way of dress as a way to combat racial discrimination and bigotry in a country where black people have been hosed down with wild dogs sicked on them while rocking penny loafers tucked in dress shirts and fitted slacks is fucking idiotic ....

to sympathize with that kind of ideology when we live in a country where the president gets called a nigger by police captains shows a clear disconnection from the reality of white supremacy and its affects on Black Americans ...to be a black man who defends a person that promotes this train of thought shows clear coonish tendencies.... to continuously sympathize with white Supremcist ideology especially while being one of the few black public figures in media eliminates all doubts on whether or not an individual merely has "coonish tendencies" and confirms that the individual is in fact pure coon... Steven A Smith is in fact pure coon

I've been wondering if the same people who think that a man can hit a woman after she hits him are also people who think Israel can attack Palestine

I just watched the clip of Whoopie on the view and I have to say that what she said was the realest talk that will EVER EVER EVER be on that BS show. And the real trip was that MOST of the crowd reaction seemed to be in favor of the common sense argument that whoopie was stating. The other women surrounding Whoopie, on the other hand, were toting the BS dated cliches that allow women to engage in criminal activity with zero consequences. I say this with the utmost sincerity. NO women should feel comfortable slapping, punching, spitting, using various weapons on a man without accepting the likelihood of retaliatory force regardless of size and strength. Size and strength of the perpetrator are not the primary determine factors of an assault. This is why children can be except from retaliatory force, regardless of their size, given that their minds are not adequately developed. Grown women and men on the other hand are open game. So women and men, either keep your hands to your self, or play the game and take your chances.

Has Skip came in defense of Steven A yet? SAS will throw black people under the bus all the time, with no canned apology or suspension, and then ESPN forced him to apologize, and then suspend because Beadle called him out. Ironically, the show is all about embracing debate and no topic is taboo, ESPN is full of shit.

SAS got his wakeup call. Talk bad about blacks ok. talking about domestic violence in context about white women Not Ok.

Haha funny see SAS tap dance better than the late great Gregory Hines.

We'll see what happens when that fat fuck pseudo-intellectual Jason Whitlock blames black people for everything what they'll do.
