tbh ANYTHANG above Georgia is really Eastcoast. just because a nigga from South Carolina or Virginia don't mean shit, they EastCoast niggas. they just talk country like D.C. niggaz. New York folks have a problem with claimning their own side. they act like the only Eastcoast areas are New York and New Jersey when if you look at a gotdamn Map you'd see it's a lot more states on the Eastcoast. I remember when the South was America's shithole, then when Goodie Mob dropped the song "Dirty South" everybody and they mama within a 200 miles north of ATL claimed they was Dirty South. FUCK YOU. Southeast. Its the SEC. To me Tennessee definitely the South and even Kentucky. S. Carolina too but those coastal states have a different feel. Atl aint on the coast its in like the middle of Ga. But yeah anything from Kentucky on down is the South. N. Carolina on up is gettin into E. coast but still Southeast. You know when you hit the north as soon as you hit a place like Ohio from Kentucky. You enter the industrialized North.

I was born in the south (Florida) and grew up around all the different southern artist and even those who influence was purely regional. As well i grew up listening and appreciating East coast, midwest, and west coast music. So to be as unbiased as possible, if we are speaking on what music influence you felt growing up then of course the music from your environment is going to come up #1

But if we take achievement off #s sold, influence, relevance, and style then I would say the south and east are neck and neck if all factors are taking into consideration. If we are just going by #s sold (by a group collectively) then of course it will be east coast due to the strength of Wu-Tang.
