All the funny shit aside(And there's always a wealth of it from him), he got knowledge about hip hops formative years that we should all listen to. I know he's a NY bias ass dude, but had me listenin to old LL tracks for an hour off somethin he said in the LL vs Ice Cube thread. It's one thing to listen to the music, but when you can get the perspective of someone who was around back then. It's priceless.

IDK at times he's a soild poster other times seems naive lost/out of touch. Maybe hes bipolar.

@"5th Letter" Not trying to bite your style but I got a question for @"5 Grand"

In another post, you said that you were committed to a mental institution in 2012, and around that time it sounds like life was pretty rough (no computer/no internet etc). Is this when the trauma from the past started to come back around and how were you able to bounce back from it?

Thats basically what happened.

I started taking psych meds and when I got out of the hospital I went back to college.

Nowadays I have a small home studio and I make beats and I write a lot. Basically when I'm not online I either make beats or write. I have enough material written to release an autobiography.

5 Grand- Certain people have senses that other people don't have. A small minority of people can see and hear things that the majority of people can't see or hear. If you've heard of E.S.P. or Extra Sensory Perception, some people are born with it and some people aren't.

excellent :+1:

5th Letter- Where are you from?

5 Grand-I was born in September of 1973, one month after Kool Herc’s first party. But I’m not from The Bronx or Harlem; I’m from Newton Centre, Massachusetts by way of East Providence, Rhode Island.

I knew it was gonna be good when he starts off on a tangent from the get go

5th Letter- How come you moved around so much as a kid between Massachusetts and Rhode Island?

5 Grand- I was born in East Providence, Rhode Island. I moved to Newton Centre, Massachusetts when I was 4 years old. But if you ask me where I'm from I'd say Newton, Massachusetts. I don't remember much from Rhode Island

and then doesn't answer the question. lmao 5 grand you could be on some rick ross and birdman shit

Definitely the most fleshed out interview since this shit started. I expected this thread to be far more hilarious though. Oh well, we had the Troy Ave thread for that.

one thing i'll say about 5 grand is that i would have never looked up songs by Spoonie G if it wasn't for him.
