Personally, I don't support the state sponsored extortion of men and sometimes women.

I don't think men or women should have any obligation to take care of a spouse if they are no longer together.

People use that alimony and sometimes even child support to be spiteful because a relationship has ended and they were hurt or the relationship didn't end on their terms.

If getting out of a marriage is that important to you then you should have no problem cutting all ties with that spouse including any type of financial backing.
