I do. Now that all these places have you use the chip in your card instead of the swipe, the mobile option is much faster. Plus a lot of the places right by my house have Android Pay, so I can walk over there and do what I need to do without carrying a wallet.

It is the function "NFC". NFC stands for Near Field Communication and is a wireless connection on a very short distance. Basically it gives your phone the capability to communicate with other wireless equipment ie phones, credit card machine, laptop's or what have you.
