Jay throwing shots at Miley because she sonned him 3 years ago in an interview where she said she had never heard and didn't care to hear a Jay-Z song?

Damn son you up on Miley Cyrus history?

Party in the USA is one of my favorite songs. It is what it is.

You couldn't have typed that with a straight fact

Why not? It's not a good song?

nope nor a good artist. you still watch disney channel bro?

Well it's one of my favorite. Never been afraid to listen to pop music. I always enjoyed Madonna, Backstreet Boys, LFO, Aaron Carter, Britney Spears, Vanessa Carlton, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, etc..

Tom Ford is an openly gay fashion designer, this is the guy u named ur song after, somewhere Larry Johnson (no pun intended) is throwing up the ROC.....

But after all on this album this is Jay-z only time that he's dropping jewels, trying at least

There's gay men in all levels of the Design industry I bet a gay man either designed or approved everything in ur closet. Name brand or not.

This album shouldnt even be mentioned with RD, Vol 2, or BP for obvious reasons that should not need explanation

It doesnt have the soul, cohesiveness, and GOAT song order/flow of AG

Sound-wise, its maaaybe similar to BA in that its a new batch of production types for Jay z, but unlike BA there is no Allure, My 1st song, Dec. 4, Lucifer emotion...and he def aint spittin lyrically the same.

Then theres Vol. 1, the so called 'pop' album. A 'pop' album with Where im from, Lucky Me, You must love me, Imaginary player...Sound wise i can see the argument to say MCHG is better, but LYRICALLY...LYRICALLY...Jay back then was a damn monster, even on the most BS pop songs he spit FLAMES.

You cant just disregard that, so imo MCHG is only ahead of Vol. 3, BP3, and KC definitively. Dynasty is tough to grade but i still wouldnt put MCHG ahead just yet b/c Dynasty also had hits, lyrical wizardry, and most importantly depth.

You obviously ain't listing to lyrics nigga ..... For example "allure" and "holy grail" are essentially the same song in regards to lyrical content .... lyrical execution? May be up for debate ... But the content is very similar

Weren't you the nigga taking about AGHHH YOU NIGGAS QUOTIN SIMPLE LINES.... Lol and here you are not being able to understand this shit

Some of Y'all niggas too predictable ... Lol

If you think i'm gonna debate Jay lyrically now vs Jay then, you're sadly mistaken.

Not now, not ever.

Nigga save the dramatics ... aint nothing to debate .... Shit clearly went smooth beyond your comprehension level ... Sadly enough

Nggas is still usin 'It went over your

head' in 2013, huh

Only when it accurately describes a situation ..

Like Jay?

My thoughts on this album, track by track and as a whole:

Holy Grail: Jay's verses aside this comes off as pretty corny. And I get the theme, I really do. Timblerlake sounds like he's singing a cheesy Bruno Mars leftover and the Nirvana bit is terribly awkward. But this serves it's purpose as an intro track... I guess. Clearly going to be serviced as a single too - 7/10

Picasso Baby: I like. Hint of some Mixtape Jay too - 7.5/10

Tom Ford: Slick, 8-bit-ish, clap-heavy production and Jay is just straight up having fun with this. There isn't much more intended with this, but it still works. This track will still catch hate though, for obvious reason. The last quarter of the track is slowed down and compressed into a tunnel of reverb. Spice it up with some background vocals from his "bad bitch"...why not?

Hollup...

8/10

FuckWithMeYouKnowIGotIt: The majority of this track is essentially handed to him and in usual Rick Ross fashion we have featured heavy-hitting production outshining his lyrical mediocrity. Having said that, Ross somehow still fits on the song. Good thing Jay does his mere 1 minute and 45 seconds justice, as well. Dat production, doe - 7/10

Oceans: Jay does his thing on this but anything that Frank Ocean's pen touches is most likely gonna be flames. Sonically an album highlight and easily an overall standout - 10/10

F.U.T.W.: Even though this sounds like a Vol. 3 leftover on the surface, this is a track you can't nonchalantly listen to. I was ready to give this a 6.5 but he writes some real shit in this one; "America tried to emasculate the greats/ Murder Malcolm, gave Cassius the shakes", "Feel like a stranger in my own land/ Got me feeling like Brody in Homeland", "We have yet to see a ceiling, we just top what we top/ Cause the bars don't struggle and the struggle don't stop." Not for the casual listener - 8.5/10

SomewhereInAmerica: Pretty cool record. Decent for what it is. Dat Miley Cyrus twerk reference, doe LOL - 7/10

Crown: "Solid As A Rock" seriously one of the most powerful samples anyone can use. Not feel Jay giving us his best Kanyeezy-like narcissism, doe; its unfitting. Track is straight overall - 7/10

Heaven:

8/10

Versus: Niggas is forgetting what an interlude is SMH. This could definitely benefit from being longer though. "Your last shit ain't better than my first shit" - Jay rapping to himself, doe? - 8/10

Part II (On The Run): Beyonce took control of this one. She should probably make this solo or at least her featuring Jay-Z with an updated verse. Jay's role doesn't do much for me on this one and I really wish it did. He doesn't do bad, just sounds a bit disconnected - 7.5/10

Beach Is Better: Beat is PERFECT. Jay rides the beat PERFECT. I feel like Jay didn't have much else to add and didn't wanna fuck up the rest of the song. But shit, not even a minute, doe? Matter fact, I don't even need Jay to make this longer. We'll hear Wayne rap over this looped instrumental in about 2 months from now - 8.5/10

BBC: I feel like this track was one big MISS. Worst is the unwritten hook that has the melody of something I'd hear from one of my little sister's favorite Nick Jr. programs. Sucks how such an all-star cast of artists and producers can end up such a mess. Without those 2 firery verses, I'd rate this a 2. Alas... - 6.5/10

Jay-Z Blue: Jay shows some much needed vulnerability here...but somehow it comes off as maaaaaad awkward. Like how he incorporated Biggie in this, doe - 7/10

La Familia: Nigga wtf? Sorry Rubato Garcia, but.... - 5.5/10

Nickels & Dimes: Ending the album on a good note - 7.5/10

Overall, it's a GOOD album, albeit an inconsistent one that could have been conceptually executed better. I see what he was going for too and I commend him for it. I can rock with it.

Generally speaking - lyrically, he's still (of course) one of the best out - let's make that clear.

Lyrically, he can still bust out a metaphor or punchline like no other.

But lyrically, he's still rapping about THE SAME shit (his Maybach, Yacht, Hublot watches, the word "billionaire" x50, luxuriating in his own wealth and high status, etc) which could possibly be the inevitable fillers of a rushed album or the fact of it being more and more obvious that he ran out of things to say after The Black Album.

Artistically (which was definitely a quality he was going for with this album), there were a couple diamonds on this record but it overall falls short of the "concept" he was trying to put together.

Artistically, the album has good musical vision but little musical direction. There were numerous moments of brilliance on the album surrounded averageness. There's definitely great and not so good on this album that's all wrapped up in some stellar production.

Having said that, I think Jay is one of those artists who are victims of their own success. We judge him by "Jay-Z standards" because we've seen how he performed in the past. If this was Wale, most people wouldn't be nearly as critical. But he also kind of set himself up with the pretentious album title and visuals/release - he set expectations elsewhere with all that extraness but gave us an album loaded with party and swagger tracks. I'm not really sure Jay is aware of the disconnect between the theme of this project, himself, and what he's actually doing here on some of these songs.

In a way, Jay-Z is very similar to Eminem - once so good and now just a shell. At least he can say his musical peak was ingeniously brilliant, Eminem doesn't have that honor.

7.5 give a fucks outta 10

And for comparison purposes, Yeezus was good on first and second listen, but then it became stale. Bombastoc, loud and overcooked are the three words I would describe that album with.
