You know what I don't get about people who think Eminem is The GOAT (or 1 of them)? They never really listened to his music but call him a lyrical genius becuz he has good rhythm.
Nobody wants to really tell u that "Infinite", "The Slim Shady EP/LP", "The Marshall Mathers LP", and alot of "Encore" was complete jibberish as far as lyrical content goes. He didn't say anything that made sense. In fact tha only cohesive thoughts Eminem was rapping about were about Kim, Hailey, his Mother, and dissing Pop Singers. All of the rest of it makes no sense and has no true artistic value other than the fact that it's comedy and it's a white man who caught your attention in a black created and dominated (and Owned) Genre.
No1 will really tell u those things about Eminem. They'll try 2 play it like he's some underdog (which he is) and they'll try 2 say he raps about relatible music when in reality "Recovery" and "The Eminem Show" with various scattered songs are the only things he's ever rapped serious on.
I get it, so let the white kids have their rapper, I'm not against that in the least (everybody deserves a Hero), and that's no backhanded shit either. But let's not act like blacks and everybody else are gassed up and claiming Eminem as The GOAT or Their Top 5 (the proof is in AHH Top 5 Dead Or Alive lol).
I'm sure all of this will get lost somewhere in the mix tho. Alot of people rooting for Eminem will never be honest about it. "Complex" called Eminem The King of Hip Hop and NOBODY Co-Signed it (it wasn't becuz of hate/intimidation either).
Just imagine in 5,6,7 years (if they last that long) what they'll be saying about Yelawolf and Mac Miller. I think Yela got a flow but let's be trill he's a redneck, what's supposed to appeal to me about a Redneck Rapper. What, becuz he's signed with Eminem (via Dr. Dre, 50 Cent, and Slaughterhouse) I'm supposed to automatically co-sign him?
Truth be told, Eminem was never all that. He just stood out like a sour thumb, broke racial barriers, and blazed tracks and features here and there. That sounds like a good thing but in the bigger picture it means very little.
