Besides him being white, how is Eminem really marketable?

It depends like a lotta black people on here feel no matter how much Eminem Makes Music about things they been through or go through or have experienced it's uncomfortable connecting to that from a White person

It can be the siomplest thing too like a black person can be a parent and they can love their kid just as much as Em does but they still can't fuck with records like Mockingbird simply cos it's a White person making that record

This doesn't go for all blacks on the IC some have no problem admitting they can relate and like those records and feel them but the fact is alot are uncomfortable with it just cos he white

Then at the same time most people who actually buy Eminem Albums actually purchase it are Middle Class people from the Suburbs or well off backround that know nothing about what Em Rap's about as far as poverty and growing up on welfare etc they never ever been through that but these Middle Class folk that are his fans still appreciate where he came from understand he went through that struggle and just enjoy the MUsic

But Em's most loyalist fans if we talking generally are White people that actually can relate to what he Rap's about like poverty, having no father, growing up in the hood, living in section 8, being a parent struggling to get by etc those that come from the same poor enviroment in the hood he did or they may not directly have grew up in a typical hood but still come from a poor backround those fans are the 1s that relate, feel and are his loyal core fan base but there are exceptions there is non whites like my self who have no problem acknowledging i can relate and connect to his Music cos i been through it myself

Shut the fuck up
you cokefiend

I honestly think you WANT TO believe that just becuz there's a cold underlying truth to your favorite rapper and you really can't handle the critism that goes towards his way. I think u think that just becuz sometimes he's on some grown man shit that we're automatically supposed to like it becuz it's Rap music and all black kids love rap music right?

Maybe you live in a box, maybe live on a cock, idk, all I know is that nobody is hating on Eminem. we just like don't like him like u do... simple as that, take it or leave it.

i know who u r tho so i hope that internship works out 4 u lmao!

Bruh, shes a stan what do you expect?

I know that Eminem's success is in large part due to his being white. I'm not discounting that at all. I was just trying to point out that he has a lot of talent and is a hell of a lot more skillful than people on this thread that have been hating on him have given him credit for.

Nor am I saying that he's the GOAT, because to be only 16, I've only been legitimately listening to music for a few years and I can't possibly base an opinion off of that. I haven't matured and been able to go back to an artist that I used to listen to and be like "this is still just as good as is was when I used to listen to them". Shit, I usually think it's straight trash compared to what I've found since then. So I can't possibly make that type of statement.

Well being that his fanbase is 99% white, that should tell you something. His skin color is the only thing he really has going for him. Lord knows you can't say his catalog because if you put it up against any true rap legend from Jay to Tupac to Nas, he'll get embarrased. He does nothing better or equal to the many rap legends that came before him. But for what he lacks in a quality catalog, quality singles, relatable stories, respectable content, credibility and impact he makes up for with a lack of dark skin.

I'm going to get a lot of flak for this, but, in my humble opinion, the rappers that you mentioned, particularly Nas, seem to sound the same and it becomes monotonous. Eminem has different accents, flows, styles, in every single one of his albums. I can't listen to a lot of Nas at one time, as good as he is. It just ends up being boring to me. To each his own though.

The only thing is that I'd wish y'all would get off of the white shit. It gets fucking old. I don't like Eminem because I'm white. I actually used to think he was that same "mainstream, only appeals to white teenage girls" that seems to be the sentiment of many of y'all here. Until I really started to listen to his music for what it is.

There is a difference between genuine critisim @ sawedoff N Skimask but knocking someone for making positive Music that is just about their life experience and something people who been through the same appreciate is different

There are Em Song's i don't like and that is not a problem me saying i didn't like those Song's

For example if 2pac made Song's like Mockingbird, Rock Bottom, Going Through Changes, Beautiful, We As Americans, Sing For The Moment etc woiuld you say you can't relate? be honest that's all i ask just honesty

Me i would relate to anyone who made those exact Songs wether they black or white cos to me race is not a big issue all that matters is the Music and how the Artists is real with what they saying

Ok, ok. Lets say 90-95%. Also, whats the problem with mentioning three GOATs? Eminem fans call him the GOAT, so why not put him side by side with true GOATs? Oh, because it will dwarf him musically and brighten the reality that duke is as below average as it gets.

Are you bothered that he has uneducated rap fans that thinks he's the GOAT? Seems like it, otherwise you would compare him with the likes of Jim Jones or Camron since you think he's below average lol

That's my point if it was a Black, Latino, mixed whatever backround making the exact same Song's i love from Eminem like Rock Bottom, Superman, Sing For The Moment, 8 Mile Road, Mockingbird etc i would love those Song's just the same regardless of the skin colour or religion of the Artist making them

Come on homie. How can I put him alongside Capo and Cam? Neither rapper has had anybody refer to them as a GOAT. I seen a number of top ten of all time list that had eminem on it. Why? I honestly can't say. However, when he starts being referred to as one of the greatest, then it's only right he gets compared with those who share the labeling.

it's more like 80%-85%

That is true probably i'm not white but i simply am a fan cos Em makes Music about things i been through, things i'm still going through, represents Music about the enviroment i come from which is lower class and just feel his Music and also like how he expresses himself and the words he says as long as it's Heart Felt, honest, sounds entertaining and is real life Music that is why i am a fan

It's not just that i like the Lyrics and Content but i am a huge fan of Hooks and Production too it's basically the all round package

A number of people and I guarantee you they were not all white BUT the ones that had him at #1 were either white or uneducated about rap and its history.
