WTF? You can't just discount someone's race. Marketability is all about image and perception and obviously Eminem has created an image and perception that has made him arguably the most successful hip hop artist of all time and arguably the most successful artist in the 21st century thus far. He became famous and well known when he started shitting on all the MTV TRL artist. That got everyone's attention along with the fact that he was getting co signed by one of the greatest hip hop producers of all time in Dr.Dre. He was getting cosigned by everyone in the game so that got the attention of Hip Hop listeners and he was popular with the MTV crowd so that broadened his audience. Once he blew up it was basically all momentum from there. So yeah, him being white plays a role in marketability so you can't discount that but the way he approached music and the avenue he took to get his foot in the door plays an equal part in how marketable he is.
