I fucks with both artists, but Nas's catalog is just overall better and has more substance overall.
However, Jay's catalog is more accessible and sells better. I think that's a fair trade and why the Nas/Jay dichotomy is still relevant after all these years.
I thought Kingdom Come could've been better though... but I think it's overall better than BP3.. I thought BP3 was pretty peculiar for a 41 year old man to make, but Kingdom Come and American Gangster werent bad albums, people just needed a reason to hate on Jay at the time.... and even with Nas as my favorite rapper, I can say that HHID was overrated by a lot of folks too.
I think Jay's next album HAS to be something more personal and internal. I just dont get a 43-44 year old dude still talking some of the shit he does this far in life. But we'll see
