I would love to hear a American Gangster type Jay less bragging and more introspection but not.like the introspection on WTT. Jay sounded out of place. I would like Jay to drop music on par with untitled, DR or LIG but I don't see it happening. Nas has been wearing the Crown for four years now
You niggas kill me with this KHUFFI MUSIC NONESENSE, Jay-z ain't a bean pie eating rapper, why is that so hard fo you niggas to get. The dude came from the streets, that's like saying why don't G RAP make a introspective album. It's like ya'll hold Jay-z to this double standard and use the backpack/conscious standard for rhetoric. Why can't Nas make entertaining music and club bangers, that's just not Nas lane. Accept Nas for what he brings and Jay for what he brings.
Jay-z been holding NY since Biggie died, say what you want about his albums or whatever, but the man has never had any lulls in his career like Nas. He has consistently burned up the summer when NY was going through it's drought.

I don't think so. not because of his skill or anything but its the fact that people won't respect him spitting hustler stories at 45 so if he does that even if its a ill album people would hate it, and if he changes his style to se conscious hip hop, people will talk about how jay changed his style and hate it. but either way, I hope Nas' success lights a fire in jay and we get a dope album.
I'm also waiting for that AZ album now. Y'all know everytime Nas drops a dope album, AZ follows back with a dope album.
And yo, ima get a lot of hate but Blueprint ain't a classic to me. I love the album, the beats are fire, but lyrically jay was at his worst on most songs. Just my opinion though.
Good post. The question is, is Jay creative enough to craft an album that most cats relate to? Cuz dude likes to stay in his comfort zone.
imo kanye and Just work is why Blueprint is considered classic.

@ the bolded: it's funny you mentioned that, being that the first song Jay dropped a verse on was on some Muslim shit. And a lot of those "bean pie eating" brothers are from the streets too, when it comes to NYC. Same goes for 5%ers and Black Hebrew Israelites.

Azad;4705299 said:@usmarin3 yo much respect to jay for selling records. But son I give no fucks about that. records jay sells ain't putting money in my pockets. Jay connecting with white and young Americans who buy records is cool, and admirable, but we talking about a dope album.
You can walk out the barbershop and have someone hand you a free CD by someone who has not sold a single record in their career, put the CD on in your car and get amazed like damn this is a dope album. on the other hand a platinum album could be wack as fuck.
right now we only talking bout dope records and if jay can make one. I ain't a hater either, ima huge jay fan who wants to hear one of my favorite emcee put out quality music.

That's actually not the first song Jay dropped a verse on for one thing. The point i am making is, why do you niggas continue to use your pretentious standards to try to compare Jay and Nas. They are two different artist with two different upbringing. I don't here people telling Big Daddy Kane to spit that knowledge of a Rakim, G Rap to stop the street tales and get deeper like a Chuck D.
I honestly believe these Nas fans are salty at Jays success, like ole boy said, you don't see Jay fans talking about Nas should make a Black Album. Wanna know why, because Jays career is on a whole other plateau than Nas.
Azad;4705278 said:@rong lol at you getting mad for people not really listening then you go around not really reading.
No one saying jay gonna listen to LIG and say damn nas snapped on this joint, and feel inspired to make a dope album.
the reality is, critics are loving LIG but not just that you got lebron James, Mary j, scarface and other rappers talking about how ill the album is. When Jay hears about the person his career is in twined with getting all this praise, his competitive nature might be like yo fuck all this shit ima show these nigas.
I hope that happens too. A dope Jay album would be appreciated.
