I'm pretty sure cole used to get alot of love on here but since sideline dropped it's been flipped.
He did, niggas hailed him as the anti-Drake who would save the rap game and eliminate all YMCMB type rappers...
then they got mad when they realized J. Cole actually collab's with them, the reaction to In The Morning was fucking hilarious on here and the longer it took for him to prepare his album the more people thought "Well he didn't record it and drop it in 3 weeks, it must be terrible"
I can pretty much guarantee Drake being on his album was to diffuse any perceived beef between the two of them AND a label idea. Drake & Lil Wayne features are obligatory for labels these days.
In The Morning without Drake > with Drake.
*I meant mixtape by the way.
The media pushes stuff on people by blowing shit outta proportion. The "Drake/Cole" beef was one of those things. Before Friday Night Lights everybody was pushing for that light skin boi beef but oddly after In The Morning dropped all that disappeared....weird huh? Not really.
The term "savior" is wack. Cole showed that you can sell records without an over the top gimmick. That's a positive no matter how you cut it.
