I still haven't gotten an answer to this question. You seem like a smart guy so let me ask you. Why does this bother you? Other rappers gets called the "savior"

This isn't nothing new..the "savior of Hip Hop" tag happened to Nas during the release of Illmatic and J. Cole is no where near Nas skill level (maybe give him a few years), but the dude is releasing music with elements that a lot of these new artists are missing in their debut releases and that is honesty and balance.

Article has a point. Cole bridges new generation of rap audiences with oldies who grew up on Illmatic, Enter the Wu, The Sun Rises in the East and other East coast classics. Hip-hop older fans are very nostalgic and Cole does a good job at bringing a breathe of fresh air to the game with aura of old school touch we miss so.
