50-Cent-Shoes-G6.jpg

Woooooo these shits was hot ass fire back then

My nigga Yeezy was getting ready to drop CD and that "Slow Jams" and that Usher "Confessions" had the girls in the rallies feelin right ...

Since I'm from Northern Cali niggas was fckin with that Hyphy real hard at the time that 7-0-7 shit from the federation

^^^^ Bunch of amped up kids off this shit...lol ..problems

I remember we still had local hiphop radio ...it wasn't some bought out playlist yet ...we had actual radio personalities we had a late night mix show that used to play a bunch of underground shit from different areas ....that's the first time I heard Rass Kass "Nature of The Threat" ....The radio station used to play full albums before they dropped like Flex Hogan does and all that....smh what our local radio has turned into now ...

Mase was getting ready to make a comeback

I was fucking with that N.E.R.D "Fly or Die" album real heavy

And this shit changed the game

Outkast-speakerboxx-lovebelow.jpg

Also since Kanye was the hot producer at the time ...hunting his beats down lead me to fucking with Slum Village "Detriot Deli" a little harder and that Dialated People's "Neighborhood Watch" joint too..

Overall pretty good IMO

But that's were I was at when I was 16/17 as I got older I went back I realized all the hot ass fire that got dropped during that time like

Cee-lo Green The Soul Machine

The Pretty Toney Album

The Grey Album

Murs 3:16

Shit my year was winnin out this bitch ...S/O to my '04 niggas

You from the bay and was rocking the g-units?

Scust

fuck you mad at the G-Units for ...nigga

2005:

Late Registration. TM101, Bun B, Mike Jones, Paul Wall, Chamillionaire and Slim Thug all dropped albums while the Houston movement was on fire. Riding Dirty took over the radio. Carter 2 dropped around christmas, I remember that being played the whole break my first year in college.

The Massacre dropped, Niggas thought it was gonna be get rich or die trying to the second power, myself included.

3-6 dropped the most known unknown, and won an oscar for they work in hustle in flow a few months later. Biggest moment in memphis history IMO. Choices 2 also dropped.

John Cena and the Trademarc dropped smh. My little brother jumped on the wrestling bandwagon a little too late and missed the attitude era so this is what he was stuck with. Nigga wore that wack ass song out.

Pretty Ricky album dropped and I heard "Grind with me" EVERY FUCKING TIME i turned on the radio. Made me hate those bitch ass niggas. The hoes loved it tho

Rihanna first hit the scene. Now look where she at...

Hurricane Katrina happened too.

All in all 2005 was a decent year for rap, but looking at all the albums that released, it was more of a rock/pop filled year.

Yeah so I was a senior (I use that word loosely) in '06 and hip-pop/snap music was the shit.

What made it worse was I moved from Queens to Atlanta so the shit was like a culture shock, but honestly when I was in high school I really got into vintage hip-hop shit cuz the stuff they fed us on the radio wasn't hitting.

I was a super senior for six months. So i experienced the year Tupac and Biggie died. Both were from my city and Biggie was from my hood. That shit was surreal.

^^ Wasn't rap but was dropped by a hip hop artist. Crazy (no pun intended) single around that time. All over radio.

King dropped the year that I graduated. This song was the anthem:

Late Registration released around the time we started senior year.

The world was introduced to Lupe Fiasco and the Fahrenheit series.

This album was hot senior year..imo is the best Wayne album to date:

Last but not least, I remember The Roots album Game Theory was about to drop and Don't Feel Right was released. I heard it in accounting class fucking around on the computer and was floored. The site I heard it first from was no other than allhiphop.com and was the reason I joined the community.

The Documentary

The B.Coming

Late Regustration

Be

After Taxes

TM 101

A few highlights in an otherwise lackluster year. This was the beginning of the swag/snap rap era SMH. Once I got to college that fall shit was full blown.

c/o 05 we had the becoming by beanie. wayne was starting to heat up with the squad up mixtapes n shit. i was bumping confessions cant front that was a dope album. lil john was the goto producer. diplomats was starting to make their run, i copped diplomatic immunity 2 shit was a banger. t.i dropped u dont know me as a single and that album was slapping. i and the classic late registration was the album of the year for me.
