Cam is crazy nice when he really tries. The only thing is he dumbs his shit down sometimes so his lil dudes can get shine. Overall, he's definitely top 20 to do it.

If DI was a solo album with just cam and one disk it probably would be a classic. It's always been one of the biggest wastes of Classic beats in history.

Shouldve been a cam solo

In reality thats wat makes an artist great. Cam has one of the funniest personalities in the game, like 50, kanye, 2pac, they have a strong charecter that seperates them from everyone else. Cam'ron is great jus off comin up with ideas.

Personality is the difference between a good artist and and a great artist. I love the new artist comin out (J.cole, Kendrick, krit) but they dont have mind drawing personalities, they kinda boring, like when they have interviews 95% of the time they say the thing and i already know what they gonna say.

Cam
50
Pac
Ye
Wu tang
DMX
Drake
Big sean
Redman

made the game interesting and fun based off their personalities.

That's all fine and dandy, but dudes like Pac, Big,etc have classic albums and their music is what essentially defines them, not their fashion and sense of humor. That's why i said he is a second tier rapper

Yea i mean i gues i feel u because lyrically cam wasnt on they level.

but pac had the music PLUS the personality.

but i understand what u mean tho.

me personally i think these new rappers need more humor like cam. cuz when cam is talkin in a interview u gonna get a laugh here n there, or when pac talkin youll try to think from a different perspective.

these new rappers? pfft all u think after the interview is "word"

the only new rapper with a character is Cyhi n freddie Gibbs whinin ass.

Nigga do be doin that. But aside from that kinda thing from time to time, he's way nicer from a rhyme skill standpoint than he ever gets credit for. That's why he does so well in the rapcity booth and in battles, becuase with that type of shit he can abandon the ridiculous subject matter he rights about and just go for broke rapping. He's at his best when he does that. If somebody can youtube that rap city freestyle where they rap over the Scarface "My Block" beat Kudos and Jimmy tried the best they could and still couldn't outshine a guy wearing pink and counting money very bored with it while killin it rappin. So TS his overall legacy can be summed up watching that rap city freestyle as a career metaphor. From his days of running around with Ma$e to the UNtertainment days with Him and Charle Baltimore to the dopest days to him and Vado....He's always rapped nice enough to be respected and shine brighter than the peers he's been around, it's just that other nonsence pertaining to the business practices behind the scences and shakey stability from one faction of crews to the next pair of peers has kept him from classics to go along with the Jays and Pacs and B.I.G' s and Cubes

Yo, I can't really remember if it was the "my block" beat he was rapping over or not, but does anyone remember a "freestyle" he did on Rap City where he rapped for damn near 5 minutes right in front of the couch and they just had to fade into commercial. Dude straight up kilt that shyt, but I can't find on YOUTUBE.

cam will go down as one of the greatest of all times. what he did for hip hop is indelible. If it weren't for him rap crews wouldnt even be doing their own mixtapes, hype men wouldnt have a chance to get big, niggas wouldnt be saying "swag", the list goes on and on and on

Yeah I dont think Cam will ever be top tier nor do I see him as such.....kinda repetitive subject matter not very much creativity. He go down as a better than average rapper who had the balls to go at Jigga and Nas.

Top tier wordplay, influential on and off the mic, entertaining personality. Only problem with him is that he's pretty one-demensional with the subject matter, used to be more diverse in that respect back in the day... dude's legacy won't be as good as it should be tho, lot of people don't realize how ill he is, just remember his corny lines about computers putin and range looks like laffy taffy
