What does J. Cole and Kanye West have that Charles Hamilton doesn't?

i never listened to him before

but he is a GREAT freestyler. A rare purist freestyler..there arent many left.

he doenst rely on a barrage of premeditated punchilines or comedian shit..he just goes off the dome, not too many do that

there was a vid that he ran up on Serius Jones in a barbershop to freestyle against him...

Serius was on some spit 2 bars...pause and laugh at himself for 15 seconds while thinking of something else then continuing shit

charles was actually freestyling...there arent many that freestyle like that anymore, so he was kind of out of pocket and he did lose...(he isnt a battler , but a freestyler, there is a difference..)

idk, that came to mind

and im not into nitpicking songs....u have a particular tape of his u suggest?

I'm dissappointed in the way Chucky Ham's career has gone. I had high hopes for that boy when I peeped Brooklyn Girl got on a few countdowns, but it seems like he ain't been doing anything. That class of 09' produced only three dudes that's making noise right now. Cudi, Curren$y and Wale

Consistency Charles Hamilton has jojnts but they are too inconsistent... PLUS him wanting to be a female rapper threw alot of ppl off....

I agree he's a bit inconsistent but considering how much material he releases, he really doesn't make alot of trash. And there's no proof of that female rapper stuff.

a bunch of stuff.

charles hamilton is no where near the skillset of a j cole.

its just the way it is. theres NOTHING charles hamilton can do about it.

How so? Charles Hamilton is an excellent song-writer, a solid rapper, and his sampling and beat-making is on point. His only fault with his production is mastering... and he fucks that up on purpose, for what reason I don't know.

hes a lame and a cornball...

he's not a good enough rapper to offset being a herb...

What does being a herb have to do with anything? Need I mention Young Money?

I think Hamilton is a victim of circumstance. He was the closest on the verge of "superstardom" prior to Cudi, Drake, etc.

Yall should give Charles a Break, especially with that whole gettin punched b.s.

I found with CH over the last year when he produced for himself he tried to make something so outta world it turned out boring or just plain weird (gynophobia is horrible)

so when he gets other producers son is hella fuckin dope

Didnt fuck with him as much in 2010 because he dropped all these strange projects where hes tryna show how different he is instead of rappin his ass off, i mean dont get me wrong i love concept albums (thats why pink lavalamp was so great) but some of the effects are terrible (did yall hear the blue lavalamp? worst shit he ever made)

Charles Hamilton is dope but he lost his momentum and doesn't have the work ethic left in him to gain it back. He needs to put out a dope mixtape, make public appearances, and get his name back out there.

I love this beat....

Ok I think he produced it but he didn't mix and master it. Makes sense. Shit is dope tho

I dont listen to those fags either...

but they do what they do better than he does what he does...

So Drake is a better herb than Hamilton is? Based on what? The label he signed with?

That's just not true. The average rapper sounds like a ripoff of whatever is hot. His flows are dope too but I can't/won't bother debating that.

name these EXCELLENT songs that out do the likes of a J Cole.

Does he have anything better than Too Deep for an Intro? 2Face? Grown Simba? The Badness? Enchanted? The World is Empty? Dreams? Lights Please?

The Pink Lavalamp and Well Isn't This Awkward are full of songs that rival J. Cole's catalogue.

no he doesnt. And i KNOW this because i used to listen to a Charles Hamilton before i decided that he really wasnt all that great. This Perfect Life was soooooooooooooo disappointing and i can only listen to like 3 songs on The Pink Lavalamp. He just comes off as either a screamer or a whiner in the voice.

What does his voice have to do with his song making?

u make mention of him being a great freestyler...but thats like .2% of an attribute worth mentioning for Charles Hamilton. Hes a creative producer, but it sounds VERY low budget in the grand scheme of things.

I admit, his mastering is really really bad but that has to do with sound quality, not actually composing and arranging drums, samples, instruments, etc.

so yeah, theres a LOT of things that Charles Hamilton doesnt have when compared to J Cole.........and to compare him to Kanye is idiotic.

...and he's listed Kanye West as an influence.
