Do you think bridging the gap between generations is possible @ this point or is it a lost cause? To me it seems that we've come to a point where youngins are just like "f**k it, I will not allow myself to be schooled on certain things pertaining to hip hop." It's like an endless argument that finds very little common ground.
Actually I find that some youngsters do get it and soak up game but the majority (especially here on the IC) are basking in ignorance and do not give a fuck about anything other then the fantasy world others create. It is sad HipHop started out about the struggle of the urban culture from Tagging to breaking to Rapping and DJing it was all about fighting for Identity and teaching with music as has been a tradition since Africa, now it is about conforming to the mainstream it once rebelled against and selling out your values and brothers to make it with fictional fantasies of delusional glories from Kats faking the funk...

When i agreed wit the t/s i meant as far as i think there is more actual drug dealers, robbers, and killers that rap versus back in the day when most rappers were basically spectators. I think the 90's was definitly a better era musically the songs and content was way realer and believable then today. But if we're talking bout who has more actual street dudes in the biz i would say that would be this era, and its not for the good thats y the music has suffered so much.

Na.........hell na............there was waaaaaaay more Street dudes back then compared to now...............Ur Avrage "Gangsta" rapper (Jim Jones, Plies, Rick Ross etc) has been Exposed and showin to be somehting that they not.......
