Barry O Will Return To Public Life Next Week, And His Schedule Looks Jam-Packed

After an extended break from the public and what looked like an extremely relaxing vacation, former president Barack Obama is set to appear at public events for the first time since Inauguration Day next week.

Obama’s first event will be a town hall with students at the University of Chicago where subjects in Obama’s bailiwick like voting rights are likely to come up. After the Chicago stop, Obama will attend an awards ceremony thrown by the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation in Boston, make speeches in the U.S. and Europe, and visit the Brandenburg Gate with German chancellor Angela Merkel.

However, the Times reports, audiences shouldn’t expect Obama to challenge President Donald Trump on matters like foreign policy, immigration, and health care. “Even as he witnesses President Trump’s relentless and chaotic assault on his legacy, Mr. Obama remains stubbornly committed to the idea that there is only one president at a time,” the paper said. Further, Obama and his staff “know that anything he says in public, no matter how veiled, will be interpreted as criticism of Mr. Trump.” Aides say that with a surge in activism aimed at challenging Trump and Trump’s own failures on big swings at Obama-era policies all happening with Obama on the sidelines, he’s not particularly needed as an anti-Trump voice.

Though Obama appears to be taking the high-road against a man who accused him of illegal activities like wiretapping, a major Obama donor told the Times that it made sense to keep a low-profile now and then lend a hand to Democrats during the 2018 mid-terms. “If you come out 100 days after the election throwing haymakers, I think your credibility wanes,” John Morgan said. “He’s better to save himself for the fall of 2018 and speak from a higher perch.”

Someone mentioned that every time news about him comes out, it sounds like a GTAV news radio station. And i see that coming true more & more with each passing day. We have another country ready to nuke us & he's worried about MS-13, The NY Times & closing off a sidewalk. You can't make this sh-t up.

Report: CIA's Liaison To The NSC Fired After Clash With Controversial Aide

Ezra Cohen-Watnick, the White House staffer who reportedly helped funnel intelligence reports to the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, was at the heart of another, much more behind-the-scenes Trump administration drama, the Guardian reported Thursday.

A retired marine serving as the CIA’s liaison to the White House was summarily dismissed in mid-March, sources told the newspaper, after a clash with Cohen-Watnick, the 30-year-old intelligence director for the National Security Council.

“It was the most disrespectful thing they could have done,” an anonymous White House official aware of the incident told the Guardian, praising the professionalism of the former staffer, who has since returned to the CIA. “He’s a good man. What happened to him was fucked up.”

The liaison’s role involved briefing senior White House officials with top secret security clearances about covert operations, according to the report.

The CIA and White House did not provide the newspaper with comment.

Cohen-Watnick, a protégé of ousted national security adviser Michael Flynn, was reportedly almost fired himself amid an internal struggle for control over national security policy in Trump’s White House. Once Lt. Gen. H.R. McMaster replaced Flynn, he allegedly tried to fire the young intelligence official but was overruled after Chief White House Strategist Steve Bannon and senior adviser Jared Kushner, the president’s son-in-law, intervened.

Cohen-Watnick was later reported to be one of the sources who played a role in getting Nunes to the White House to view classified intelligence reports that Nunes claimed show the identities of members of Trump’s campaign staff were inappropriately unmasked. Both Republican and Democratic lawmakers who later viewed those same intelligence reports say the documents indicate no improper surveillance, and are instead standard intercepts of conversations that involve individuals targeted under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.

Maxine should work with Trump if he pushing a Jobs Corp for urban, willing to increase funding to HBCUs, or SBA loans to black businesses

Obama needs to stay low key, he was good at getting himself elected, didn't translate to down ballot candidates. I can do without the melodrama

Ted Cruz Praises 'Warrior And Patriot' GOP Mega-Donor In Time Profile

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) lavished praise on his one-time champion, mega-donor Rebekah Mercer, in a fawning entry in Time’s “100 Most Influential People” list.

Rebekah Mercer and her billionaire investor father Robert were the driving donors behind Cruz’s White House run until diverting their support to Donald Trump when he clinched the GOP nomination.

They’re also part owners of Breitbart News
and a slew of other conservative enterprises.

“Rebekah Mercer is a warrior and a patriot,” Cruz wrote of his benefactor in a short tribute published Thursday. “She is the daughter of a brilliant mathematician and tremendously successful investor, and blessed with her own deep intelligence and intuitive insight, and it would have been simple for her to have settled into a life of comfort and ease.”

“But Bekah cares too much about freedom and our nation to do so.”

The Mercers’ investments helped “fuel a political revolution,” he continued, adding: “Bekah has helped transform the world of politics.”

Then he gets to the meat of it: “And she has helped fund upstart campaigns and underdog candidates, including my own Senate and presidential campaigns. When Donald Trump won the nomination, Bekah played a pivotal role in helping assemble the team and strategy that shocked the world in November.”

Cruz understates it somewhat: Trump’s most influential hires of the campaign, Steve Bannon and Kellyanne Conway, both reportedly came at the Mercers’ recommendation. Conway originally ran a pro-Cruz super PAC that received $11 million from the Mercers, Jane Mayer reported in a New Yorker profile of the family’s patriarch. And Steve Bannnon, per the same profile, was the family’s de-facto political adviser for years.

And when Cruz urged attendees at the Republican National Convention to “vote your conscious” on Election Day — widely seen as a rebuke of Trump — the Mercers made a rare public statement to the New York Times to scold the senator, calling the non-endorsement “both regrettable and revealing.”

“Last summer and again this year, Senator Ted Cruz pledged to support the candidacy of the nominee of the Republican Party, whomever that nominee might be,” the statement read, in part. “We are profoundly disappointed that on Wednesday night he chose to disregard this pledge.”

Cruz eventually endorsed Trump. He even called voters for him. And the Mercers praised him publicly in the Washington Post.

The senator faces a costly re-election campaign in 2018.

Dems are just as fuckin stupid as Republicans. They don't wanna govern either. Looking for this "unicorn" candidate to endorse ain't gonna happen. It's unrealistic to believe that you're going to agree with someone 100% of the time. As long as the person you're backing has most of your interests in mind, then there shouldn't be an issue with you supporting them.

This is not a difficult mindset to achieve, and any person with a modicum of intellect understands it. All of these war cries and rallying will be moot if you can't even settle playground disputes. Smh. The whole political landscape needs to be blown up and we need a couple mulligans.

I mean, there's a reason Bernie won't align himself with Dems either. He understands that they're in damn near as bad a shape as the opposition, and all of the in-fighting leads to dick getting accomplished for the people you're supposedly representing.

The Dems have zero organization at this point. You have different factions battling for control like its Game of Thrones or something. The AARP wing put Pelosi back in power and still push Hillary onto the public. The Bernie wing is batshit crazy and the major reason why the nuclear option was used for the SC. Then you have the purists who don't want anyone who isn't pro-choice and full SJW to run for a Dem seat.

They need to stop worrying about elections in Kansas/GA, stop with the Trump/Russia BS, stop with the #resist crap, and develop an actual platform for 2018 and 2020. Then go out and find YOUNG and PRACTICAL candidates that can grow into potential stars. Say what you want about the Tea Party, but they did this very thing in 2010 and swept over the House.

No, they don't need to stop that shit. They should continue with what they're doing, and in conjunction, develop their platform. These people are supposed to be the creme de la creme of the country. I'm sure they can walk and chew bubblegum at the same time.

The fuck you get "creme de la creme" from? Most politicians are just empty suits. But hey, the Dems didn't listen during the primaries or general election either, so I' sure most feel the same way you do. All the more reason to dithc both parties and be independent.

Demss look like Knicks management these days...disorganized, depleted talent, and no direction going forward.

They have/had some ideas. Raising National minimum wage was a Democrat proposal for instance. A lot of the reason many of their platform was not instituted fully was and has been due to Republican obstructionism. People will figure it out or maybe some wont. Obamacare is another example of a program that was actively undermined at every turn. And it still survives to this point even with that. Like I said people will figure out what really goes on (many already understnd) and some maybe wont. Not to say any party is perfect, but its more to it than "Democrats are terrible" some of us realize the obvious fact that is said by the saboteurs themselves. Your doing what you do on here pro Trump anti Democrat but it aint fooling everybody. For instance, propoganda aside some of us actually remember what the economy was like when Bush was done with it and how it grew with Obama. Facts. At some point there are some things that are on the voters and people who chose not to vote too.

1) National Min Wage has always been a garbage thing to focus on. Only 3% of workers even get min wage, and raising it just leads to less jobs. The true answer is bringing back high wage paying jobs. Which was hurt by outsourcing of production, and in-sourcing of professional and tech work. The idea that people think they deserve $15/hr for flipping burgers is a joke. We used to joke as kids that you would grow up to say "paper or plastic", but now people are acting like that's a career.

2) Obamacare is trash. It's not single payer, had no public option, had no cross state policies, and killed catastrophic coverage which meant you could get a cheap plan if healthy and just cover major things like a broken leg. And for what? So the healthy and young can pay for America's obesity problem? 21% of costs is all on people being fat, something over 200 billion. My premiums have shot up like crazy since ACA. Its cool if you're poor, but if you work and have people to support you're fucked over.

3) And yes I'm anti-Dem, but also anti-GOP. I've said a million times that both parties are the problem. People should go independent, which we used to be pre-1970's for the most part. The whole partisanship game is a scam. Dem control pretty much every major city in America, who's stopping them from fixing shit? Nobody. And if you're fine with being a Dem that's cool, my point before was that the tactics they're using are dumb. I was a Dem and put in political work back in college, but went Indie after I saw all the bullshit that goes on behind the scenes. if you want them to do what's needed, you better start putting pressure on them, and not just co-signing all the nonsense they're doing right now.

Bill Clinton is a scumbag, but dude did know the political landscape way better than Dems do now. Once they got rid of the DLC things went downhill for them.

I dont agree with 15 dollars an hour for flipping burgers. However I do support raising the minimum wage to $10. It doesnt reduce jobs thats a "conservative" viewpoint. People make more they spend more. Leading to more money being put into the economy. I actually have an understanding of how things really go. There are reasons the economy tends to grow during Democratic terms.

Obamacare, it could have been built and improved, we see people dont want to just get rid of it so that says everything that needs to be said on that. Again I see whats really going on beyond the propoganda. Its still there for a reason.

Outside of that Im not really a political nihilist. I think for many measurable metrics Obama did a great job. I dont agree with every Democrat on everything, or anybody on everything for that matter but I do pay enough attention to see beyond rhetoric to real effects. I agree with the level of involvement or "putting pressure on them" as you said. Or more accurately not being some uninvolved in the process complainer. Contrary to what some think the parties arent some separate entity they are actually made up of people.

My main point is people trying to gum up and knock something off course cant come to me and say "see they are incompetent" Uh there was divided Government and the ones saying that are the ones who obstructed and fought to prevent the very progress. So Im not one of those gullible types. People will get it on that, some maybe wont as I said earlier.
