He was using the Talib Kweli flow that so many of y'all praise, where you're constantly trying to catch the beat, then you ride the pocket for a few lines and go back to chasing. It's a "complex" form of rhyming that is a lot of times unnecessary. He did a pretty good job though, it's better than the abc flow these basic one syllable rapping niggas be using.
