But Meek was never a top tier battle rapper in his scene. I watched Philly battle rap religiously back then and the rappers that were really recognized was:

Reed Dollaz, Kaboom, Franky wit the grippaz gone, Tec-9, Joey Jihad, slaughter rico etc.

Meek was never mentioned. Although I saw some of his battles way back when.

I saw a Meek interview once where he even said he's not really a "battle rapper", that's just what niggas in Philly do to get on. Battling was never his shit, just something he did
