It's like people heard Carter 4 and all of a sudden there's "Wayne's wack", "Wayne's fell off", "Wayne's not talking about nothin'", "Wayne is spittin' gibberish", "Wayne's album sounds like a mixtape" etc.

Honestly, the whole Carter series is plagued by material with random bars, wack lines, and albums with a mixtape feel. At least with Carter 3, there's material like "Comfortable", "Tie My Hands", "Shoot Me Down", "Dr. Carter" etc. where Wayne does get out of his comfort zone and executes songs rather than just random bars.

People that rank wayne as an elite rapper,are ignorant and/or young with very low standards. wayne was NEVER a nas,pac,jay,em,cube,face,notorious etc level mc,NEVER. He says absolutely nothing in his rhymes. Sure every rapper might have some rambling songs in their catalog,but that's ALL WAYNE HAS. With the exception of DAMN I MISS MY DAWGS, and EVERYTHING,it's hard to find meaningful wayne songs. He literally writes "songs" with back to back punchlines,to hide the fact that his music is utterly pointless. Even the songs,where you'd think there would be some depth,opinion or detail,it's the same old rambling and bullshit. For example: I FEEL LIKE DYING.

I'm not a Wayne fan but at the end of the day it's about music too, not just lyrics. Lupe might be a dope MC but does he make good-great records? Don't think many people believe so. Also to the average listener they probably don't even catch half the shit he's saying because IMO it feels like he tries way too hard to be complex at times. Nas is one of my favorites but even his deep metaphors and etc you can catch, Lupe's are probably harder to catch unless you're a big fan of his.

Ill agree that Carter 4 was underwhelming....ironically i think his high made him more creative with the bars, but far from wack...hes an elite rapper not necessarily an elite lyricist, but as somebody else mentioned, he is rapping his own way with his own approach love it or hate it i guess...and i used to front on dude but he is nice
