La citerne etant un element ferme etanche, la condensation (apport d'eau), formation de boues residuelles hydrocarburees en fond de citerne se propagent au gre des nouveaux remplissages, le nouveau combustible se melange et perd de ses performances. Le nettoyage consiste a enlever les boues et residus en fond de cuve, et les faire recycler dans un centre agreer dans le traitement de produits hydrocarbures, pas question de les rejetes dans la nature, risque de polluer la nappe phreatique.

Pour les cuves neuves il est preconises un entretien tout les cinq ans, pour les cuves plus anciennes deux ou trois ans. Faire entretenir sa cuve c'est aussi realiser des economies car votre chaudiere aura un meilleur rendement.
