The reality is that without the help of King Kai, the series would of ended with Nappa and Vegeta killing everybody on Earth. The spirit bomb and kaioken were game changers.

The Spirit Bomb and kaoken still didn't stop Vegeta, nigga was goin off on everybody in that fight even took out Great Ape Gohan.... i read that Tori originally planned for Great Ape Gohan to eat Vegeta but Vegeta was the most popular character so he let him live...
