Yo Whis is too cold on that joint mang. Damn....it's only 30 minutes of the movie...it was just getting interesting.

Everything I've seen so far tells me this is one of the best DBZ movies yet. I still don't feel like I've seen everything either.

Conflict was clutch on that one.

So I watched Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods last night with my 10 year old son...

It was my first time ever watching any DBZ stuff...

So I'm sitting there for like the first 30 minutes like:

dafuq.gif

And I'm thinking damn, I can't believe my son is into some weird, nerd, anime type stuff... smh

Well, long story short... even though I couldn't really get into it... I guess the movie wasn't that bad...

But personally I just don't understand the allure of DBZ... the characters and the action are way too over the top in my opinion...

I mean, I've just always been into more realistic stuff... even when I was a kid...

Anyway, also, sometimes during the dialogue I couldn't tell if they were being serious or sarcastic, so I didn't know whether to laugh with the film or laugh at it... I was just confused...

I'm an 80's baby... and I don't remember anybody talking about DBZ when I was coming up... am I just too old to relate to this?

Then I realized and remembered that there is a bunch of grown men on the IC who are into this stuff all the time...

What's the deal?

Well it just might not be your thing, and that's cool. But one thing to note is that there is usually a power creep in anime. You're watching a movie that takes place after the end of the series, so the powers are pretty ridiculous. If you had started with DBZ at the beginning or with DB like most people, you'd have a somewhat different perspective of the show.

Yeah, that makes sense, good point.

My son tries to tell me everything about Dragon Ball from A to Z, I just don't have the patience to learn, I guess it's just not my thing.

On mobile but next teamfourstsr abridged was released on their website.

dope ep.

N/H to some of Cells lines tho.

I'd say it probably just isn't your thing and that movie is one of the worst places to even attempt to start. Being an 80s baby means nothing since DBZ fandom was hard body in the 90s thanks to Toonami when a lot of us were in/getting out of high school.

Funny thing is Dbz gt ended in 1983 actually but, it just took a long time for it to get over here.

That shit was STILL killing the game over here and them Japs had moved on. In fact I think it was the US that created all the mania behind DBZ.
