Y'all niggas who can't deal with filler must not have watched DB or DBZ on tv at all and the just the fights on YouTube or some shit, Dragon Ball filler actually serves a purpose and builds up the fights/characters so when they finally happens you're more hyped and appreciate it more..

Frieza vs Goku and Goku vs Vegeta 1 wouldn't be classic fights without the filler, if the show was mostly just non stop action,action,action nobody over the age 7 would care about Dragon Ball..

They kept the main story intact and purge the scenes that weren't relevant to the plot(Yamcha,Tien, and Chiatzou vs 4 dead Ginyu Force members on King Kai's planet) or speed through it(Namek exploding in 5 minutes but took 13 episodes to conclude the final fight)

"Filler that serves a purpose" is an oxymoron. If it serves a purpose, it wouldn't be considered filler.

I'm not asking for everything to be action... but you can't tell me there's a reason for the 8 minutes of trunks and gotten finding a gift and that stupid fight with the snake when they could've taken in out in less than a second. THATS the type of filler that's completely unnecessary.

I'm not tryin to act like it doesn't but im just used to it from watching DB/DBZ, like i said i never fucked with Kai bc that shit took more than half the story out of it and also alot of scenes/jokes/dialog that they thought were inappropriate for kids....

One of main reasons I'm watching Super is for the filler, i know what happens when Beerus fights Goku and when Frieza comes back, but i wanna see how Vegeta gets god mode, Friezas training to get the gold form, the experiences Goku and Vegeta had training with Whis, Beerus and Whis back round story ect....

Like i said you don't have to watch the show, you can wait for fights to be on YouTube or a Kai version of Super to come out 10+ years later..

These episodes brought back the old school Dragon Ball appeal with the Vegeta's family vacation,Chi Chi nagging Goku about a job, and Goten and Trunks adventure battle with that snake

The funny thing is that shows like Bleach,Inuyasha,Full Metal Alchemist, and Naruto suffered the same problem.The reason why is that anime and Manga adaptations were nearly at the same point of the story arc.I think thats the reason why Tite Kubo decided to end Bleach immediately after the Ichigo vs Ginjo fight and planned to animate the Shinigami vs Quincy war/Soul King arc once the manga is done.

Basically mini sagas that play an important part to the story within a saga, for the Frieza saga it would be like the Ginyu Force arc, the Android arc for the Cell saga, Majin Vegeta arc for the Buu saga, Baby arc and Super 17 arc for GT ect...

Nah the anime episode pace kept on catching up with the manga a lot of times,which force the animators to make filler arcs and filler episodes to stall while Tite Kubo makes new material for the main story line

it happen after the Soul Society rescue arc

Right after the final between Ichigo and GrimJow

Right after the Kenpachi and the 5th espada fight/Visored memory arc

Alot of times during and after the soul society vs Aizen/Espada invasion

and I also remember the original Full Metal Alchemist anime in 2002 deviated away from the manga story after Envy killed Mayes Hughs.
