Glad to see the show back though.

I don't get why Toriyama was a total nob and made the show take place before the battle of gods movie though

The show just starts off before BoG, it then goes into FnF then universe 6, so it should be about 3 arcs or maybe more if they wanna bring more universes into the series but that depends on how well the show does...

Why didn't they just wish Dr. Gero into the hyperbolic time chamber and destroy the door when Trunks comes back in time to warn them?

I don't think they knew that Dr.Gero was alive, it wasn't implicitly stated. It was only stated that he created 2 Androids who came to life and wrecked havoc.

My only gripe is why didn't Vegeta continue training in the hyperbolic time chamber versus the gravity training ? He got immensely powerful multiplying is power level like 10 fold in just 1 day (Earth time). If I were Vegeta I would have spent a week in there training, the amount of Zenkai boosts Vegeta would have gotten from the harsh climate both physically and psychologically would have pushed him beyond SSJ2 to SSJ3. I would have taken younger Trunks in there with me and gone all out.

The issue with Vegeta maaaannn, he never asked for help, whereas Goku always did. That's why Goku was able to go so much further and why it took Vegeta so long to catch up. Sure he was still second strongest but he could have been on Goku's level in DBZ towards the end if he utilized help. I must say tho, for MOST of the sagas save for the Buu saga Vegeta was practically neck and neck with Goku and when Goku was ahead it was only by a small margin.

Vegetas way should have still had him even with Goku to me and show that there can be different ways to achieve higher levels of power. They are supposed to be rivals the gap should've been closed by the end of db when Goku trains Uub.

I think you kinda missed the point. They were rivals, Goku has qualities that allow him to reach higher levels faster. Vegeta accepted that in the end and that is what allowed him to play punching bag for Buu while Goku saved the day. It's also the reason he is training alongside Goku now instead of trying to do it on his own. Vegeta's pride was what was holding him back.

I don't like how the anime changed Gokus personality, in the Manga Goku holds alot of pride aswell and was selfish in alot of moments, the anime turned him into a Superman Jesus that always does the right thing...

Those traits are still there in the anime. After he only stopped Krillin from killing Vegeta because he wanted to fight him again.

People just misinterpret Goku's character. People always criticize Vegeta for letting Cell achieve his perfect form, but forget Goku did the exact same thing with Freiza for the exact same reason.

Great point, Goku also gives almost every enemy like 500 chances to get out alive you would pretty much just have to tell him you changed your mind and you'll be good from now on ^_^

COSIGN

Vegeta

Recoome, Burter, Jeice of the Ginyu Force

Frieza

Kid Buu

etc.

lol Yeah Kid Buu was the worst. This nigga Goku wished for their worst enemy ever to be reincarnated, and then abandoned his family to go train Buu. Goku has damn near the worst character on the show, but everyone gives him a pass.

It should also be noted just how lucky Goku was.... a lot of his worst moves were the best things to ever happen to him. He let Raditz go when he had his tail and it gave him time to alert Vegeta and Nappa, it also caused Goku to die and go to King Kai's planet and without King Kai the Z Fighters would have surely died at the hands of Vegeta and Goku especially without that Kaioken training and the spirit bomb.

By letting Vegeta live he managed to learn about SSJ, he went to Namek, Future Trunks, etc. it was brilliant even if you thought it was stupid when it first happened. Vegeta was hands down Goku's greatest ally and friend. Without Vegeta there would have been no Future Trunks to warn them of the impending doom of the evil androids, on top of that Goku wouldn't have received the heart virus. Which leads to another note, Goku was suppose to get the virus and die a year before the androids set in. He didn't take the heart virus like Trunks told him to, instead he waited to fall ill. If he had taken it, he would have died at the hands of Androids 16, 17 and 18. The present day androids were far more powerful than the ones in Trunks' dystopian future and if Vegeta was more powerful at that point as Piccolo had said he was during the battle against Androids 19 and 20, they would have surely died that day even with SSJ Goku, Trunks and Vegeta (and Piccolo). They also wouldn't have been able to train in the hyperbolic time chamber.

Even betting it all on his son was risky but in doing it we saw Gohan go SSJ2 and completely stop Cell, Gohan could have easily died especially after Cell got the zenkai boost from senzu bean. Him dying allowed him to train in other world with no limitations allowing him to go SSJ3.

Hold on now...

Vegeta was never Goku's ally or friend. If you watch the jpn version, Vegeta only stuck around cause he wanted to be the one to defeat Goku and not anyone else. U.S. version changed up this dialog.

You forgetting that it was Bulma who created the time machine and the cure to the virus, all that was her idea.

And I thought 16-18 weren't activated at the time. So them killing Gero would've eliminated pretty much everything. And I believe the android were pretty much same power level in both timeline.

The anime didn't change anything. It should have been clear to everyone what Vegeta's motivations were. He stated them multiple times.

Vegetas motivations were always to be the strongest and be better than Goku was. It was due to Bulma and then Truns being born that humanized him even more in the 7 years after Cell.

Yeah lol ghost dad as nicca

Goku's ass was about to say no to 100 million zeni til Goten told that bum muthafucka that Chi Chi would probably let him go to King Kai's planet to train if he bought home some money. Goku then took the money bought it to Chi Chi, asked her if he could dip out, she said yes and not a second later that muthafucka was gone. God damn shame, although instant transmission makes it easy to leave and come back.

Ok so finally watched the first episode I wonder who's wrecking planets and have the Kais shook? This guy Goku really is a deadbeat sack of shit man smh have Goten doing yard work while he screws around. Then with the first opportunity dips out on his family no problem. Gohan....bruh.

Something about the animation style tho that i'm not feeling but dbz was always switching artist every other episode so i'll wait
