I got a gut feeling the white sox,nationals or angels gonna swoop in at the last second and sign cespedes.

The NL about to get a DH in the next year or 2.It's about to UGLY that means vogelbach or schwarber can DH lord have mercy for mlb

if the NL already had a DH rule you know schwarber name wouldnt be involved in any kind of trade talk

the old cba expires december 1 and there is also talk about restructuring FA compensation or at least reassessing it, like qualifying offers etc

I wouldn't give cespedes a 6-7 year contract but 3 years is ridiculous at least offer 5(last year vests or team option).Nationals made an offer so we'll see soon

my guess is that the white sox are hardballing at 3 years in the hope that they can sign him for 4

cespedes people are probably asking for 7 years hoping they can get 6

will probably take a 5 year deal

Sounds like cespedes using the nationals to get a better offer from the mets.

Nationals 5 year offer.Mets and his agents talking a 4 year deal with a opt out after the 1st year so he can be a fa again next winter.He reportedly wants to stay in new york

now im not just saying this because cespedes, as it turns out or at least seems to me -- never really considered the white sox unless they threw him arod money for playing out of his mind 60 games last year (playoffs not included) with production he wont ever repeat

but i remember someone asking in this thread about why cespedes has been on so many teams in a short amount of time

when you get traded 3 times in a calander year though i think its safe to say its circumstance - no way can someone wear out a welcome that fast -- i think more then anything it was boston need for pitching and their OF depth + teams not being able to extend a QO to recoup a draft pick for him had he signed elsewhere that got him flipped all those times

when you read stuff like this from john harper of the daily news though

cespedes is good but there are some major over the top reactions to this signing

especially with an opt out NEXT YEAR (and he will opt out unless he gets hurt)
