Both Big albums are classics and arguably both are top 10 of alltime, Pun only had one and it doesnt compare to either of Bigs.

Big Pun has one complete album; Capital Punishment. Endangered Species and Yeah Baby are posthumous remix/collabo albums.

So basically Notorious BIG has two complete albums and Big Pun has one complete album.

Pun had the better technical skills but Big had the better albums.

However, people forget or flat out don't know how crucial of a role Puffy played in crafting those albums.

Big wanted to go in a more illmatic type of direction.

And hell think of the difference between Party & Bullshit and Ready to Die.

Pun didn't have that same focus behind him and it shows. And I have a lot of love for TS.

Yeeeah Baby was a step down in part b/c Pun never really finished recording. He was still in the recording process for the album but some of the cuts on the album weren't supposed to be on the final version. Think of it as his first draft for the album. Hence why you have a song that's only Remy Martin rapping, and why it starts off rather solid but midway through the whole concept he was working with and style of songs just gets erratic and is all over the place.

His lyricism and flow definitely didn't drop off for that album, but conceptually it was definitely not complete. The title, the skits, the song concepts all don't mesh together. I don't think we got what he would've released had he been able to finish the album, which is obvious considering the mood Pun had established on Capital Punishment and the mood Fat Joe established on Endangered Species. Pun was known for fucking around and just making jokes out of his music until it was time to really get down to work. We see that on Yeeeah Baby.

So i'd be more inclined to say he probably released 1 1/2 albums rather than two, at best.

From a rhythm and delivery point of view big had sway and a impeccable sense of cadence..Every word struck the bar when it was supposed to..Biggies style was conversational,that kind of style has more impact with people because its delivered in a certain tone that conveys "I'm talking to you and not down on you"

Pun was a monster but His rapid flow sometimes fell off the beat on certain songs..You have to have a ear for rhythm to pick it up..Nevertheless when pun was on he was ON...The reason I think he doesn't really get love on a grand scale was because his style was simply too complex...the rapid fire delivery didn't help..He kinda Lost some ppl who weren't able to keep up with his flow,it doesn't resonate with everybody's energy the same way

Musicality first,lyricism second...Big had a better tone on the MIC that was agreeable with more people

Big is an amazing rapper, but in my opinion his legacy is not like a legend status. Not enough material, plus not much posthumous stuff.

Check for example 2Pac. Dude had so much music, footage, interviews, manuscripts, handwritten lyrics, movies. Still we haven't seen 40% of it, maybe even more, it's crazy and it keep the legacy fresh and relevant.
