20 Greatest Hip Hop Albums of All Time (5-1)

Nas

Pac

Jay

Big

Dre..combine total of albums is over half the list.

Im a fan of all and respect all those albums..but this is a somewhat generic list of albums..meaning its very SAFE in terms of who and what albums were picked..

All i know is that

Mobb deep-Imfamous is as good or better than every album on that list..period

Hip hop is much broader and deeper than the usual suspects as great and talented as they are (were)

And IMO

Atliens >Aquemini

Midnight marauders > low end theory..slightly (production) both could make it though lol.

It Takes A Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back is top 5 easily

Came in to say this. That is one supreme sonically produced albume. And the scratches on there are top notch as well, was listening to the whole album on Youtube last Saturday

"It Takes a Nation..." didn't make it bc of the demographics of the site. Same with Tribe...

Cosign

But this is a hiphop site tho, no excuses

The name of the site is Allhiphop.com, not 90sHipHop.com.

The problem is that the moderators, regulators and owners of the site don't remember 80s Hip Hop so you end up with a skewed Top 20 list thats biased towards the age bracket of the site administrators.

What album would y'all take out in favor of Nation of Millions?

Any of them.

Nah, It takes a nation of Millions is dope, but def not Top 10 of ALL Time

Its top 3 all time. It might not be the absolute best, you could argue some albums are better sonically or lyrically, but It Takes A Nation Of Millions is easily the most creative album of all time.

A good top 5 might be

Most Creative - It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back

Most Lyrical - Illmatic

Best Sonically - Doggystyle

Best Double Album - Life After Death

Best Posthumous Album- The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory

I didn't even know a poll was open. Tribe would have definitely got my vote for Midnight Marauders.
