2017 and some west coast folks still have an inferiority complex? Do better yall

And yes Ready to Die was very g funk influenced due to Puffy. Biggie had love for all Coast b

2pac had y'all niggas shook to speak his name

I'm still scratching my head why BIG never responded to "Hit em Up."

But everyone was jumping on Nicki Minaj last week ... LOL!

Can't compare the two IMO. There was alotta of violence behind the scenes and eventually public of big/pac shit. Big always said he didn't want to add fuel to the fire. Though "who shot ya" was clearly a Pac diss imo. Also is rumored that "long kiss goodnight" was aimed at pac

Pac did drag him into some shit he didn't want to be in. It's obvious the Badboy camp went with the silent approach which is weird for a Hip Hop camp but not for street shit.

rumored? nigga they dissed him while he was gone because they feared him in the physical form. Big is not as innocent as ppl make him out to be. Pac fucked his wife, dissed him and his whole squad. No way after pac got shot, he was praying everything will be okay(puffy said this)

nobody was afraid of 2PAC, if anything people wasn't tryinta fuck around n get on suge's bad side. Don't forget bad boy was rolling with Jimmy henchmen and them. Puff was a smart business man and knew the violence was gonna fuck up the $$. Also no-one has confirmed Pac slept w faith, unless u wanna take suge's word for it. My thing is...nicky n remy can't be compared to big n Pac..bc that wasn't a RAP beef, it didn't seem from some bars someone misunderstood or sublimininally sent. It was a STREET beef that lead to RAP songs

A NY nigga (Pac) gave you westcoast niggas the heart to talk shit is what I'm getting from all this you typed.................East Coast wins again.

I don't want to argue ad nauseam about 2Pac and Biggie but consider this:

2Pac really believed that Puffy and Biggie set him up to get robbed and shot 5X. He retaliated by going in the booth and making a diss record.

If thats true than Pac was softer than a marshmallow. What kind of "Thug" gets robbed and shot 5X and retaliates by making a diss record?

There was a well known incident involving one of the 2 mentioned here. There was numerous speculation who may have been involved. Not that I have any info, but at this point it cant be said that was his only retaliation. Who knows?

@ 5 Grand , you said pac was soft, maybe u should read this

’Pac refused to comply with the orders, and shooting began. Five bullets hit him, and he was beaten and stomped once he was on the floor. After his assailants had relieved him of his jewelry and fled, though, he rose to his feet and got into the elevator. Bleeding and dazed, he arrived up at the studio, where he discovered a large group of men, including Biggie, Puffy, Shawn and Henchman. They seemed stunned to see him, he told Vibe, which made him think that they’d expected him to die. He asked someone to roll him a blunt and called his girlfriend and asked that she call his mother to tell her about the attack.

Maybe them niggas was "stunned" to see tupac bleeding in a elevator in a studio. I always think Pac was put in a tough situation, is almost like he HAD to have a problem w biggie n puff after that shooting. I mean how do you stay cool w people that are friends w niggas that tried to kill you. Pac always knew WHO shot him, he said he just wish big n puff warned him. He knew biggie n puff ain't call that shit. But they was guilty by association. At the end of the day it was one of them needs where both sides had valid reasons for there actions, then too many mothafuckas got involved

Remember Lil Shawn said that Big did warn him about rolling with those cats and he went back and told Jimmy and them, which led to Big being robbed....

I would say 2Pac was somewhat bicoastal ... that's what made him special and the GOAT (in my opinion). But I would say he's a little more West Coast since his music career started in the Bay Area with Digital Underground.

It's a Case by Case thing. Especially When it comes to rapper who claim Atlanta, they have to be born and raised there or people totally denounce that shit.

Ludacris moved to Atlanta at 9 yrs old, but people quick to say he a Illinois nigga. Lol we kinda like that in the city too. Territorial for no reason like shit changes outside them city limits

That's a good point. I guess it's different in certain locations and it's up to the individual. Take Kurupt from Tha Dogg Pound, he didn't move to LA, Cali until he was 16 (originally from Philly on some Fresh Prince of South Central stuff) but he claims the West Coast and speaks about Philly every now and then. I don't know ... I guess his few years in Cali (before meeting Dre and Snoop) was more meaningful to him than his time growing up in Philly.

Everybody bit everybody and then they made it better. Thats how life and music works. You see something you like and you emulate it and hopefully try to make it better.

It always happens, NY set the format and made it cool to rap and be tough, Cali drew from that and gave it more personality and gangster appeal, midwest brought melodies, the south brought dance and soul... Since then everybody has mixed up aspects of everything popular from every region to make their style.

50 got hot teaming with west coast niggas, and you can say the same about Pac. The lines are so far beyond blurred when you start factoring not only the artists, but the producer, who they hung with.. Like Ice Cube isn't chill like Snoop but he still west coast, and he really broke his shell when he came out and worked with NY producers.

Once you transcend your region the type of sound you make doesnt really matter, because the whole country is hearing it at the same time. Look at Drake, he is proof that people no longer give a fuck where you are from, that was an older business model in hip hop to use you city as a marketing point.

Nobody mad at Biggie or 50 for using a west coast sound, because they did a damn good job at it.

I think it may be a West Coast thing...

Cause So is his cousin Redrum, he a "OG" Blood out there but he's a Philly nigga too

Lady of Rage from Virginia but considered a LA artist.

The DOC a Dallas nigga but considered a West Coast Legend.

I get it though, they popped in Cali, but that same shit don't seem to go for artists in Atlanta. Lol niggas is quick to dismiss that shit.

Remember when T.I. Got accused of being from Riverdale.? He not, but Riverdale/Clayton Co ain't no Hoe though...Waka and other official MF from there and it's just right outside the City Limits of ATL.

Same shit going on there, just was more gritty environment with all the projects we had and has the Sticker of Atlanta on it.
