Well, most of the bigger leagues pay folk transportation and accommodation fees...Plus whatever money just for battling...Plus what they spend on venue, promo, merch...Like these companies really ain't rich like that they pretty much stretch themselves far as they can go...Once MTV or some other big company gets their hands back into battle rap, shit gon change completely...

For some of the battlers, it might be good...For the leagues, it might crush them unless they get incorporated...Same way a lot of Smack battlers hopped over to KOTD last year cause they were treated better, or did business with UW cause they did it better...If a large company(aside from BET) with long money and media pull puts together another Fight Klub kinda league...Erbody gon wanna go there cause they'd pay more, have better contracts, more ways of working around errors, etc..When they did it years ago, battling wasn't as popular as it is now...It was more geared towards real heads who would prolly watch just as many real life ciphers as they would DVD/tv battles, but now people of all races, backgrounds, genders, are into the shit and popular battlers have international fame...For the fans...We'd prolly have to begin to expect more pay per views at a higher cost...Lower time limits on rounds...Censored battles, if they end up on tv...Heavier advertisement on YouTube...There would be a split between the underground and the mainstream in battle rap...And at that point whether it's bad or good would be up to each individual to decide...They already workin on a battle rap reality show, and 106 got the UFF, so it's happening right now...The reach of the culture is growing at a rate the leagues can't always keep up with and control by themselves...They need more funding/security, but it's gon come with a price...

And then, there's also the fact that the consistently higher paid battlers right now might get between 5 to 10 racks, and they give lazy/incomplete performances with that...If they can start makin double or triple on the regular...It could motivate them to get een sharper, or it could motivate them to just play the game well for the cameras as long as they gettin paid...Just like the recording industry...Lotta niggas start makin real money and the content falls off...But of course, there's artist who genuinely love working on their art...
