We expected an epic Battle. We expected a degree of professionalism and polish that a huge event such as this should have. How you not gonna have you sound checks straight for the...................Main event of the night? Smack runs the best events PERIOD. And I fell HORRIBLE for anyone who paid for or attended that BS.

Niggas watch wrestling my G. I don't, but i'm sayin, Vince McMahon is a billionaire. If somebody gonna take it mainstream, it's gotta be somebody that was there from the mud. They ain't know what they was doin, why was the stage in the middle, nobody else on stage. Judges, half the fun of battle rap is comin to threads, or comment sections and debatin who won. They had the right idea, they saw a nigga ride a Hayabusa and thought they could, no shame in that, but we lost as fans.

I see what your saying but as much as this event meant to the culture I felt they should have worked out the basic kinks for than anything else. This was a real chance to put battle rap on the mainstream map in a huge way and could have opened the door to other mainstream artists participating. But after seeing the trash we witnessed tonight, I doubt any mainstream artist would want to watch another one of these events much less take part in one. I can live with the stage in the middle as a growing pain, but the Judges, commentary, sound problems and Sway's MCing was worse than I could have ever imagined.

You can't work out kinks if you don't know what you're doing. This is like pulling a dentist off the street to do heart surgery. He good in his world, and the worlds are similar, but that don't mean you can do what I do. They had a lot of boxing type of things going on, the judges, the 2 commentators, the ring in the middle, the lighting. Battle rap is its own sport, while metaphorically it can look like boxing, but it's not boxing. Don't tame what ain't meant to be tamed, they puttin a perm in that shit. Battle rap played an away game tonight and lost. If it's going to ever go mainstream, which it shouldn't, the people who put their lives into it should be the ones that do it.

after some thought...my opinion is this event tried to take battle rap to too high a place too soon. had this gone down on some lowkey shit or even summer madness where the crowd woulda been more in tune with the battles, everything probly woulda been ok. but to hype it up as "the most anticipated rap battle of all time," attach all these big names to it, have it in that huge venue, charge that much for tickets, have a ppv...all that shit wasn't necessary & placed some ridiculously high expectations on regular ass battles (ars/big t, day/rex).

battle rap was doing juuust fine this year. we just had high stakes in january & it couldn't have got any bigger than that. we had a stream of great-classic battles (minus a few) this past few months & it was becoming more popular on its own. then total slaughter happened & ruined it.

& my thing is...total laughter didn't really bring anything to battle rap culture we didn't already have - smack & organik already have cosigns from mainstream rappers; hip hop radio stations have already had battle rappers as guests & talked about events live on the air; most battle leagues already have sponsors & have done events at pretty big venues...& what did we get in return for supporting? the worst fuckin event ever.
