Yea so, Athiest have no morals, Harvey walks away when they try speaking, so how does he know they have no morals? To know someone you have to spend time with them I dont get where hes comin from though with the whole no morals shit, another reason I hate religious niggas, always being judgmental and shit.

right, but all those genocides, and the destruction left in the path of Christianity and Islam displays such a high standard of morality. give me a break.

He keeps talking about a moral barometer, how about treating others the way you want to be treated...i don't need a god to tell me that. Those that believe in a god and follow strictly to the Bible or Quran are usually the most unforgiving and judgemental, as Stever Harvey's comment about an Atheist being an idiot and walking away so eloquently displayed. Where does all that place on your moral barometer Mr. Harvey?

Steve is the idiot. You walk away from a person when you find out he's an atheist. That's pretty idiotic to me. You might want to find out what they are about instead of just making shit up.

Because we are all humans, the world is ours, if we destroy it and the people around you then you have nothing. You dont need some old powerful guy to know how to do right. You dont need someone to tell you murder is wrong. You dont need someone to tell you pain is bad when you can look around and see it for yourself. Life is about much more than going to a happy place when you die. Wether it be chance or a creator we are blessed to have been on this planet, in earths time we are nothing but a microsecond we need to cherish the time we have here. It's ignorance to think you should not give a fuck because some magician in the clouds doesnt exist.

My question to you religious nuts? Why do you do bad? Why accept god doing everything for you? Why can you not understand the difference between stupidity and morality? Why do you think being an athiest or agnostic means we have nothing to live for?

I wouldn't say the world is ours. It also belongs to non-human animals and the tress, grass, etc who live off the earth as well. But, I do agree with your other statements.

It's really simple and cliche, "treat others how you would like to be treated." As chozenone said, we don't need a god to tell us that.

I mean by the world is ours, is that we live in what we make it. We can control all the other life forces outside of us on here. Speakin from a position of power it is ours.

Because I feel good when I do good. I don't need a belief in a god for that. So you only do good because of a belief in god?

Not just a belief in God but a fear of God. An acceptance that what ever I do in this world will carry over into the next. Because without belief in a higher power their is no reason to fear. Unless you believe in karma.

As an atheist we do not have the safety net of an 'all-forgiving' God. We have to get it right the first time.

Why do you need fear to motivate you to do good?

People are more likely to stay in line when there are laws. And it is because of their fear of punishment whether it be by man or God. Perhaps I lack hope in mankind but without laws and consequences made by humans and the fear of God people would do what they want when they want how they want.

Another thing question
It is in mans nature to be violent, greedy, and jealous of others. If these things are in our nature why is it deemed anti-social behavior? Should humans really be held more accountable for their actions than every other form of species that dwell upon the planet?

Why do good?

Because doing "bad" hurts me, others and the greater good.

Why care?

I don't, I work to be aware.

how does it hurt you? If you really didn't care it wouldn't matter if your actions negatively affected others and the greater good.
