I saw this tweet posted in the Kendrick DAMN. thread and I chuckled...
I feel and think most women lowkey like misogyny directed towards them (privately) but wanna be down with the feminist crowd and their ideology ... just when it suits them
Is (some) rap music sexist and misogynistic towards women? Yeah most of the time but the music that celebrates women doesn't get burn on the radio like that but I digress...
like that tweet above some or most women would shake their asses to songs depicting them in an unsavoury manner with no fucks given and you got cats in here caping. LOL
And finally feminism in the modern era has to be the biggest con ever. A man who was heard encouraging his friend to just 'grab women by the pussy' was elected as President of the United States
... by a large majority of women
53 percent of white female voters voted for trump... No other race of women voted for trump in large numbers
White women and feminism arent one and the same. Not to mention a large percentage of Americans who didnt vote
And because some women would shake their asses to songs depicting them in an unsavoury manner we shouldnt care what may come of the young consumers or how the music perpetuates misogyny?
This is something the IC can't understand.
If the whole world was just black people, there would still be feminism.
Women would want to be treated like equals if they were all black.
Do you understand why feminism was created in the first place?
Why was it created?
BTW, the actual historical origins of feminism is irrelevant to my point.
Feminism came out of the women's voting movement. But white women didn't want to even give black women the vote.
Your claim that feminism would have happened regardless betrays reality.
expound
the term was coined in 1700s, 1800s in france
but feminist thought existed prior and gender equality was not just a French woman concern
so if the whole world was just black people, there would still be feminism
but i'd argue it would be feminism but known by a different name
A lot of the arguments feminists use to justify equality are based on African tribes that have less gender constriction. If Africans don't promote the problems the same way European culture did how can you say that the same resistance to those problems would have arisen?
Sexism existed within African tribes
Certain tribes women couldn't own land; take multiple spouses same as men; or travel alone
baren women treated like outcasts; girls having to have their clitoires removed
Sexism exist within modern day Africa
Modern day Africa is rife with European influence, though. We can't really make statements about westernized Africa if we are talking about a hypothetical scenario where there are no white people
Sexism thrived and was perpetauted in Africa before the European influence
