White women and feminism arent one and the same. Not to mention a large percentage of Americans who didnt vote

And because some women would shake their asses to songs depicting them in an unsavoury manner we shouldnt care what may come of the young consumers or how the music perpetuates misogyny?

I saw this tweet posted in the Kendrick DAMN. thread and I chuckled...

I feel and think most women lowkey like misogyny directed towards them (privately) but wanna be down with the feminist crowd and their ideology ... just when it suits them

Is (some) rap music sexist and misogynistic towards women? Yeah most of the time but the music that celebrates women doesn't get burn on the radio like that but I digress...

like that tweet above some or most women would shake their asses to songs depicting them in an unsavoury manner with no fucks given and you got cats in here caping. LOL

And finally feminism in the modern era has to be the biggest con ever. A man who was heard encouraging his friend to just 'grab women by the pussy' was elected as President of the United States

... by a large majority of women

53 percent of white female voters voted for trump... No other race of women voted for trump in large numbers

This is something the IC can't understand.

If the whole world was just black people, there would still be feminism.

Women would want to be treated like equals if they were all black.

I've already shown this in the past... actually fairly recently but...

Here's some reading for you. The article also references several other books y'all need to finish before y'all touch a keyboard on this subject.

When you both learn and understand the origin of feminism, you'll understand that women of color are a very recent inclusion and they're only a part of the larger feminism movement because honkies needed larger numbers. Women of color are nothing more than pawns in the white woman's "struggle".

yea....no

white women are not the gate keepers to feminism lol

How does your post contradict that? Even if feminism in America was originally intertwined with racism, that does not show that there would not be feminists in a world composed of just black people.

In an all-black world, women would still eventually demand to be treated like equals. You are basically saying that black women have no independent interest in feminist ideas. That is wrong. Black women have an interest in feminist ideas quite apart from any additional (questionable) interests some white women may have.

I'm African (being the largest land mass with Black people on Earth) and have lived there almost from a toddler to an adult and I can tell you with conviction that the term 'feminism' or even the practice of it is non existent over there...

For obvious reasons

Woman...

OK, let me break it down some more.

Feminism, at bottom, is against the subordination of women to men.

White women are not the only women who do not want to be subordinate to men. So too do black women. And Indian women. And so on.

Now feminist ideas may indeed have first gained wide currency among white women. But that is so for certain historically contingent reasons; had certain things been different, feminism may have first arose among Africans.

Feminist ideas have global appeal to women, but (this probably simplifies things a bit) there seems to be certain preconditions for its widespread acceptance among women. Some countries have these preconditions, some do not. Hence why you will find some places today where you will not find it much in evidence. But make no mistake, once the preconditions are satisfied, you will soon find feminist ideas taking root.

ok...and your point

as I already posted

a large percentage of americans didn't vote

not to mention not every women who voted is a feminist

but most importantly white women and feminism isn't one and the same

that said, I'm not sure how the election of trump makes modern feminism a shame or con

Women would want to be treated like equals if they were all black.

Do you understand why feminism was created in the first place?

Why was it created?

BTW, the actual historical origins of feminism is irrelevant to my point.

Feminism came out of the women's voting movement. But white women didn't want to even give black women the vote.

Your claim that feminism would have happened regardless betrays reality.

expound

the term was coined in 1700s, 1800s in france

but feminist thought existed prior and gender equality was not just a French woman concern

so if the whole world was just black people, there would still be feminism

but i'd argue it would be feminism but known by a different name

A lot of the arguments feminists use to justify equality are based on African tribes that have less gender constriction. If Africans don't promote the problems the same way European culture did how can you say that the same resistance to those problems would have arisen?

White women and feminism arent one and the same. Not to mention a large percentage of Americans who didnt vote

And because some women would shake their asses to songs depicting them in an unsavoury manner we shouldnt care what may come of the young consumers or how the music perpetuates misogyny?

This is something the IC can't understand.

If the whole world was just black people, there would still be feminism.

Women would want to be treated like equals if they were all black.

Sexism existed within African tribes

Certain tribes women couldn't own land; take multiple spouses same as men; or travel alone

baren women treated like outcasts; girls having to have their clitoris removed

Sexism exist within modern day Africa

Modern day Africa is rife with European influence, though. We can't really make statements about westernized Africa if we are talking about a hypothetical scenario where there are no white people

the vast majority of men in the US have had their dicks mutilated by having the foreskin removed against their will at birth whereas the majority of the world this is not a common practice. What's your point here?

So feminism would not have arisen in Africa because ... African already embodied feminist ideals?

OK.

Excuse my spelling lol

Two wrongs dont make a right

And most parents have their sons foreskin removed because its what most doctors recommend to prevent infection and the like

I'd argue it does more harm than good but i digress

Whereas female genital mutilation is rooted in gender inequality, attempts to control women's sexuality, and ideas about purity, modesty and beauty

There is no medical benefits

It can cause recurrent infections, difficulty urinating and passing menstrual flow, chronic pain, the development of cysts, an inability to get pregnant, complications during childbirth, and fatal bleeding

It can occur within days after birth to puberty and beyond

And the act is not handled by a medical professional

My point is sexism, misogyny exist with Africa

And i argue that it was there before colonialism
