Ozwald Boateng began working towards his goal in a studio on Portobello Road, which he opened in 1991 at the age of 23. Over the next few years he developed his design philosophy. In 1994, he was the first tailor to present a collection on the Paris catwalk. At the end of 1994, Ozwald Boateng has opened his first store on Vigo Street, just off Savile Row, and became the youngest and first black tailor to have a store on the row.

Over the past two decades Ozwald Boateng has reinterpreted the British art of bespoke tailoring. Traditional craftsmanship and innovation are corner stones of the House. Ozwald Boateng's iconic contemporary twist, refined fabrics and contemporary silhouettes offer a unique luxury experience to men of all generations.

With the birth of the Savile Row House in 2007 designed by world famous architect David Adjaye, Ozwald Boateng has extended its bespoke expertise to semi-bespoke, ready-to-wear, shoes, accessories and luggage: a sophisticated journey through men's lifestyle. True to his pioneer spirit, Ozwald Boateng consistently breaks new ground, combining fashion, design, art and architecture.

i like kanye

But his answer were no better or insightful than an Atlanta housewife

And if you are really trying to make him deep

Stop reading tmz, blogs, and twitter and read a book

Please

Trick Daddy has better insight than a self proclaimed Steve jobs

TMZ and most blogs/media make Kanye out to be completely shallow, materialistic and short-tempered. The same media that called black Katrina victims looters. The same media that told you that Trayvon Martin was a degenerate thug that had it coming. The same media that's trying to destroy the good name of great black leaders like Malcom X. The same media that's trying to tell you that our people didn't build the Egyptian empires. I can't in good conscience take everything they say as the truth without at least questioning it

Aren't you a black chick? What happened to the days when black women supported black men who were trying to make big moves and push our race forward? And ya'll wonder why that nigga went the kardashian route?

If Kanye gets his clothing business going, all he would have to do is hire black people and he'd be doing much much more for our people than you have, so why are you even complaining?

Please explain to me what Kanye West need to be checked on?(besides his communication skills)

She's right though. Like C Tha G@d said we like him because of his music and his latest album was a letdown. He started out as a producer, but he's been a rapper for a decade now. Fans care about his music. All that whining about fashion 'n sh*t doesn't mean much to the average fan if you gonna keep releasing stuff like Yeezus. He rarely gave a straight answer to C tha G@d.

I'm getting tired now so I'll log off but I gotta read @xxCivixxx post cuz he might be on to something.

lol not everyone sits on message boards holding celebrity cock

My neighborhood KNOWS what I contribute

Can yours say the same??

Or are you waiting for yeezy to send you a job application

Huh? Listing facts is holding celebrity cock?

I recognize that Kanye is trying to accomplish historical things in this world as a black man, and he is meeting with strong resistance because he is a black man. Then again I look at his actions listen to his words for comprehension.

I don't need a handout from Kanye West because I've got my own goals, I'm not trying to ride his coattails. Every black man should feel this way but unfortunately many grew up in a matriarchal home, and handouts/perpetual victims are more than welcome there.

in order for blacks to prosper we must sell each other expensive skirts...

Kanye has stated multiple times that he doesn't set prices on his designs. Wouldn't it make sense for companies to overcharge in order to discourage buyers of lower socioeconomic status? And that STILL didn't stop people from buying the Yeezys

Why put him in a box though. Fans don't just care about the music as seen by the shoe sales and those stupid window sunglasses. Lol

It's like people can't let dude be great at more than one thing.

To all of the people in here saying that financial empowerment is anything short of absolutely key in correcting the state of afro americans in this country please give me a SINGLE example of any sort of long-term positive changes that these "broke revolutionaries" have facilitated/influenced? Why are so many black people content with being hardcapped financially? Kanye was exactly right, as long as someone is signing your check, you're a slave. As long as you need to go to some bank for a loan to accomplish something(black people are also hardcapped on the size of business loans that we can recieve), you're a slave. Black people are all talk but when one of us tries to step up and do something, the crabs come right out of the woodwork.

Black people have been shut out of pretty much ALL distribution companies, and that's where the money is at in ANY industry. What Kanye is saying is that we need more black billionaires so that we can gain a GLOBAL VOICE because we don't have one. We have absolutely no influence on ANY global-scale decision has been made/is being made right now. Some of our more enlightened niggas feel some type of way about that. For all the talk of doing it by himself, show me one example of a black person that has successfully started a clothing line and worked it up to the gucci/givenchy/versace level? FUBU? Rockawear? Karl Kani? None of those brands even came close. How would the result be any different for Kanye? Especially since he's already proven that his previous fashion joint ventures have ALL BEEN SUCCESSFUL?

This shit is deeper than rap, it's deeper than clothes. It's about distribution. Kanye feels he has a calling in clothes and he feels like he kick the billionaire club's door in through that industry. More fucking power to him. He's in a position to at least attempt it, so why shouldn't he? He wasn't the first to try. Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, P Diddy, Suge Knight, Marvin Gaye, Same Cook as well as many other black artists expressed interest in starting an all-black music distribution company in order to break into that billionaire club. How many of those people are alive today? How many of those people didn't have their names run through the mud in the media? I mean diddy has a body and almost went to jail for shooting a club up. Suge Knight is broke in and out of jail gettin knocked out by small niggas outside of clubs. Michael Jackson would actually be a billionaire if he were alive today, his estate clears over a billion a year and it's still gaining more and more profits. This shit is deeper than music

If extreme confidence in oneself is some kind of mental illness then I probably have that same shit that Kanye has. I think his problem is that he thinks faster than he talks(I have the same issue) so he comes off as intense when he's just trying to get a bunch of points across at once. I think he's frustrated because of how dense a lot of niggas seem to be. C tha god is a funny guy but after this interview I'm forced to question his intelligence because this nigga was letting gems go completely over his head

I gotta say that after reading this thread I'm a little frustrated too. A lot of you niggas really need to learn some critical thinking skills

I cosign this post. I'm going through what Kanye is going through to an extent, but I try not to let it get me too angry. I know what's like to be ahead of your time and be ambitous, but be surrounded by happy go lucky, small minded niggas who don't see the bigger picture. So it's like your speaking a different language have to time because you going over "negroes" heads(which ain't hard to do). All in all I hope Kanye succeeds and grows in whatever endeavor he pursues, but he does need to work on his approach when it comes to dealing with people, he needs to learn better patience, tact, and humility. All that matched with ambition is deadly, if you going at corporations you gotta be times more focused and can't get flustered. Kanye got the right idea but he needs to work on himself a little more, maybe he does need a new circle of friends.

All that shit he said about blacks not having power or any connections is on point that shit makes it a thousand times harder to prevail, because you gotta go outside you're racial/class group for money to get a project started or start up funding and the risk is magnified when you approach a investor/bank due to you're class or racial background they'll not fund you even if you got your i's dotted and t's crossed so it's a catch 22. I just hope I make it so I can give ambitious "blacks" a hand up that I didn't receive when starting out so this damn cycle of mediocrity and failure will stop. BTW all that shit Kanye is saying in regards to financial freedom, Claude Anderson, Malcolm X, Amos Wilson and Marcus Garvey already elaborated on it( and much more coherently), it's just that "negroes" are hard headed, ignorant. and selfish so they never get the message

what church you preach at because amen at the bolded. I've been saying the same thing about myself because I'm one of the rare that sees the bigger picture. Most niggas are content with crumbs, I'm looking at the whole rack of bread that could be ours if people just wake tf up. Once you realized that their are mentally stuck, that's when you distances your presences from their existence.

A person will tell you who is hiring at jobs but wont ever tell you to create your own business.

Nothing deep about what he's saying it's just that he's coming from an odd angle with it and even though his points are exaggerated I agreed with most of what he's saying. Where did he say that he was trying to save the world through fashion? Yeah fashion seems trivial, but we see how prominent the shit is in society so why would it hurt to have a black person in a prominent position in the industry. Depending upon how he went about his employment process and how he decides to use the profits he could use the fashion to make more direct, immediate changes in the community. Will he actually do this or not I don't know, but it seems like people are being short sighted in the potential of such a position.
