Tim definitely turned in some garbage for BP3, but he only did three songs. Kanye co-produced most of the album and co-executive produced the album. Two of the worst songs on the albums were the ones he produced by himself ("Hate", "Young Forever"). As co-executive producer of the album, he also had a hand in what was kept and what was left on the cutting room floor.

If one considers BP3 to be a wack album, who's mostly at fault for the quality of the album (or lack thereof)?

So were just going to ignore all of the other tracks he did co produce that were dope ... (Cos that don't count right?) and were also going to ignore that verse he gave jay on his single right?

It all counts, my point is that Kanye had a major hand in what many consider to be a wack album. Remove the Timbo cuts, and by your own admission, there's 9 dope songs left. Well, Tim only did three songs. Who's responsible for the three remaining songs that aren't dope? Two of them belong to Kanye.

Album aint Wack ...timbos contribution however definately Wack ...album ...no

And By my own admission ...I actually like those " kanye songs" ...where did I say anything about those songs not being dope? Haters was funny and that beat knocked reminded me of "the bounce" off BP2... And I included "forever young" on the 10 songs I would keep list

So I don't know what you talkin bout b...

A lot of people consider the album wack though. BP3 is widely considered one of, if not Jay's worst albums. My point is that if a person thinks that low of the album, there's no way that cutting three songs changes that. If it's wack it means that some of those Kanye joints were wack too. The album being wack was me speaking in general, it wasn't necessarily directed towards you. Personally, I don't think the album's wack either, but it's definitely near the bottom of Jay's catalog (barring The Dynasty album and Vol. 3 because I haven't listened to either album entirely).

Widely considered where?

Die hard Jay fans and critics.

I'm gonna stop checking for the updates on the app. Im a big Jay fan, but listening to this nigga over articulate this "dumb nigga knowledge" he call himself trying to kick is getting unbearable. It's making me anticipate the album less. He better off just putting it on wax. It's just really not THAT deep, Shawn.

Duke been on that bullshit for the past couple years.

I think this album is going to be Jay spittin some nice lyrics over terrible tracks like we heard in the commercial. Dude is torn. He wants to be lyrical with a year 3000 sound, but that doesn't work for hip hop heads (see BP3)

Die hard Jay fans and critics.

You're not answering the question.

Where? Die hard Jay fans & critics on the internet you mean right? Cause this is the only place I hear that shit.

I'm a die hard fan and I still fuck with it.

Most die-hard Jay fans I know that have been listening to him since the 90's in real life hated BP3 and the ones that caught on around Black Album time fucked with it.

Don't really think that was the case. I thought it was good for the time that it dropped. It was one of the best albums out. In the grand scheme of Jays catalog it was weak, but still decent. And better than KC btw

Pretty much. I thought it was just this site, but it's others too and critics also had negative opinions of it.

Yeah, thats what i was thinking when he was breaking down Oceans.

"You know, its like...that duality, its the same water, you know...so, again...its going back to that duality. Duality"

You can always tell when Jay learned a new word.

I had BP3 @ 7.5/10 when it came out, now its easily a 8. I basically judge albums by their high points so..... BP3 had his biggest hit ever and a fucking anthem for NYC that saved singlehandedly their asses in the World Series lol smfh. There was weapons grade uranium on there. D.O.A. Phew. The mic presence alone will kill a man lol. On to the Next is Swizz Beats putting on a master class. Students in hip-hop production courses should be made to study that shit and write a 500 word paper on it.

Problem was he had these other beats on there that were lukewarm or wack.

Jay-Z - the guy who literally have any beat in the world from any producer in the world LIVING OR DEAD and the one rapper on Earth who could get a 30 second Beatles sample loop cleared if he felt like it - having any beat on his album that's anything short of fucking amazing...........is ridiculous.

ehh, still dont like the idea of posting the lyrics before we hear the song.

i mean, the lyrics could be dr. seuss level of complexity and we'll say it's wack, but then hear the song and the flow, delivery and beat make it dope...

Lyrically this album must be great for the bars to be released like this...

Reading lyrics is hard to tell tho...but he must have confidence in his lyrics/flow for him to be leaking them like this...

Can't wait for the album to drop....
