dont think the beats were wack, matter of fact shouldnt it be a good thing if a rapper can make hits with wack beats

I just bought a dog just to name him Hova

I hope that dog bite you in your sleep for giving it a stupid ass name

Who cares about age?? Hip-Hop used to be on that "rapping @ 30 is ew" shit because there was literally no rappers in they 30s except Chuck D lol. It's different now. I just read a retarded review of Styles last album (shitty RapReviews.com strikes again) that criticized him for "still rapping about weed and shootin niggas" @ age 38 like he supposed to suddenly be rapping about paying his mortgage and taking the kids to soccer practice nigga shut the fuckup

Bob Dylan 72 years old still making relevant acclaimed music, BB King is 87, i fully expect somebody like Nas or GFK to be 80 years old still ill as fuck and spitting vivid street tales on wax

interesting article about jay and the Samsung thing

"Who’s the winner here?

SAMSUNG!

I know, I know, it’s part of the hip-hop ethos, to stick it to the man, to take him for everything he’s worth, laughing all the while, and this is all very well done, Jay-Z appears thoughtful, one can argue he maintains his credibility…just one thing, it no longer matters whether anybody buys your album, whether you get paid, but whether people LISTEN TO IT!

So Samsung buys a million albums at five bucks apiece to give away..

Name one tune on Prince’s album. You know, the one they gave away with the newspaper, over in England. Hell, I can’t even remember its NAME!

We need a reboot in music. Everybody’s so busy scrambling for cash, declaring the old economics don’t work, that they’re sacrificing their very core.

I just don’t get it.

What is an artist anyway? Is an artist someone who makes a lot of money? Someone everybody knows the name of? Or someone whose music tests limits, makes one think, changes the culture. Will Jay-Z’s music do this? I’ve got no idea, but this campaign has got nothing to do with music and everything to do with money.

But it does get the word out. And that’s a hard thing to do today. Yes, more people know Jay-Z’s album is coming than yesterday, and that’s a good thing.

But one thing we know about stunts, they work once.

Radiohead could do name your price…once, and then the paradigm was dead.

Justin Timberlake overexposed himself to a hit, I’m not sure this is a replicable paradigm, if for no reason other than there’s only one Justin Timberlake.

So Jay-Z gives away his album via a Samsung app. How many more people are going to do this before the public tires of the game?

What ever happened to leading with the music?"

Jay is trying to run down The Beatles for those most #1's...fortunately he'll end up doing it.

How far is he behind them?

Well...

The Beatles got 19 #1 albums in music history. Jay only has 12 but he's #2 behind them because he passed Elvis...

...that could only happen if Jay doesn't run out of things to talk about, depending on fickle fans, evolving music tastes..it could take a minute.

Solo album number 12th from Jay Z wich will have RnB singers doing the hooks for him on most the songs and on every single from the album. Him rapping about how much wealth he has and how many kilos of cocaine he sold in the 80's and how he is a baller. Production from the typical big name super producers like Timbaland, The Neptunes and Just Blaze. Will have Punchlines.

^^^^^^^^^^Oh yay yay yay i am so excited about all that another album where we get a Alicia Keys doing the hook, Swizz Beats producing the beat and Jay Z rhyming 3 verses about his wealth and selling cocaine using punclines and a skippy double time freestyle style flow.

If i am wrong and the album does not have RnB singers doing the hooks, content about money, wealth and drug dealing and production from the likes of Timbaland, Just Blaze, Neptunes and basically is is not an album like his others i will hold my hands up

But i will say i told y'all so when the album is out and i do happen to be right. I give him credit for his flow tho that's wat he good at but everything else i said about RnB singers doing his hooks, his content etc that's wat he done every other album

Can a Jay Z fan dispute that? nope i think it is also safe to say he never gonna make an album as good as Reasonable Doubt as well

If you heard 1 Jay Z song you heard them all

An RnB Singer doing the hook for him (Alicia Keys writting and doing the hook)

Production from mainly a big name superstar producer Timbaland, Just Blaze, Kanye, Neptunes, Dr Dre

Jay Z rapping verses about flashy content or materialism

That's his formula from his first album up till now get someone to do the hook, get a beat from a big name producer, use punchlines and a skippy flow.

I feel sorry for those million people with this wack ass album stuck on they phone. Jay Z is the ultimate hustler because he can make the same album 17 years in a row but put a fancy title on it and his jigga fags go berserk and think this the deepest shit ever revealed to man. Truth of the matter this will be another jay z album where he dont write hooks and depend on a lazy southern flow to sustain. Is it a stretch to say that he will rap about selling drugs 30 years ago, money, cars and Europe? The whole concept of the album has a corporate sellout feel to it. This album ain't coming from Jay Z heart. Some niggas waved 20 million in his face and just going through the motions. This ain't a Jay Z album. this a Samsung promotion stunt that's using a greedy nigga to help them sell phones with his wack ass music. Jay z ain't making power moves he is a power coon. One billion rappers on the planet and he the only one eating. New York still dead. Roc nation still dead. Good music dying. Buttuh made excellent point. Can't y'all niggas see how Jay Z railroads his buddies. Cole might as well permanently shelf born snoozer to save face. Fuck birdman bushes does Jay Z actually know J Cole is on Roc Nation? Def Jam had all they money tiedup in wack Yeezus to be a summer juggernaut now Kanye is going to have to compete with his so called "best friend".

100% fact about him making the same album over and over his whole career from the content (selling drugs and money) to the producers he works with to the formula of others doing hooks for him.

Thing is no Jay Z fan can dispute wat you said so they gonna pretend or ignore wat you said. With that said we can give him credit for his flow but his content, lack of hook ability, lack of message his fans real insecure about which makes people think why not be proud of him as a flower rather than get so insecure it only makes his fans look bad.

You make shit up like everytime you post.

He uses punchlines and has done from the start of his career i listened to the Jay Z that made RD, Volume 1, Volume 2, Volume 3, Dynasty, BP2, Blk Album, Kingdome Come, BP3 etc

He has a formula as do others he may not be the only 1 that gets people to craft hooks for him or rap about sellin drugs and get beats from a household producer many others do this but the thing is fans of other rappers who do exactly all that Jay Z does do not get insecure about it.

Neither do Jay Z fans outside the IC in the real world i imagine they accept him for what he is and does

U cant be black.

What type of black guy look 4ward to hearing wack beats? ??

Don't matter if you white or chinese everyone can have the sense to realize them beats are wack though in the past it has been the producdtion that has carried his best albums like Reasonable Doubt and Blueprint and the main reason they are as good/decent as they were is mainly because of the production by Kanye, Just Blaze etc

What was better on The Blueprint Jay's second best album the production or the lyrics? easily by far the production

What does tomp say that is not true? same way i pointed facts out if these facts are false why can't Jay Z fans post 20 songs in this thread that have content with substance/introspect and are not about selling drugs, money and wealth?

Why can't Jay Z fans post 20 singles of his where he doing the hook himself and an RnB singer is not doing it for him?

You guys on the IC act like people on the real world who buy and have heard Jay Z's albums are not aware of his style these people like him for what he is tho but to deny facts only makes you look like suspect fans

I can post easily 40-45 Eminem, ZRO, DMX, Cudi songs with introspective content, them doing the hooks them self etc

Yet no Jay Z fan can back up their boy and post 20 or so songs?

I can't post more than 5, 2pac songs where he doing the hook and an RnB singer isn't doing the hook for him because hooks was not Pac's thing he got others to do them for him like Jay Z does but i can easily post 40 2pac songs with introspect/substance
