Speechless at the fact that Timbaland produced "Heaven". I'm a longtime Timbo fan, but it sounds like nothing else he's produced. There's classic Timbo elements in the beat, but without reading the credits, I would've never guessed it was a Timbaland production.

Danja or Scott Storch prolly hooked up the melody like back in the days

Neither Danja or Storch are credited with anything on the album though and Tim hasn't worked with either in years. "Heaven" doesn't sound like something either of them would do either.

That article hit it on the nail

Bruh...I'm so glad someone posted that review so I know I wasn't going crazy. Niggas on here really acting like this album wasn't a disappointment. I've been playing this album this last couple days trying to let it hit me but its not happening.

I don't really have a solid rating for this album, but it's somewhere from a strong 3.5 to borderline 4. It's a good album. The production is stripped down and understated for the most part. Considering Timbaland produced most of it, the more stripped down beats caught me off guard. I thought there'd be more "Tom Ford" sounding beats than the "F.U.T.W." variety, but it works. I like the diversity in the tracks from the more Trap sounding beats like "Crown" and "FWithMeYouKnowIGotIt", and "Beach Is Better" to the sample based numbers like "Somewhere In America" and "Heaven".

I like what Jay did with the content and subject matter on "Holy Grail", "Oceans" and "Jay Z Blue". I also like:

"Part II" (it's better than Part I and easily the best Jay/Beyonce collabo to appear on a Jay Z album),

"La Familia" (I actually think it's one of the better songs, but get why some don't like it)

"Tom Ford"

"Somewhere In America"

"Picasso Baby"

"BBC"

"Nickels & Dimes"

"F.U.T.W."

"Beach Is Better"

"Versus"

The biggest let downs on the album is that Jay's flaws in his flow on this album are noticeable. Really noticeable. It's not as effortless. There's also some weak lines and a couple of songs that I don't like. There are also some gems on this album, lyrically even if they aren't as numerous as some of his previous efforts.

Scott Storch is one of the most versatile producers ever but that article just named Timbo s collaborator

Unlike Yeezus, when I listen to this album I keep finding new jewels in the lyrics.

Impossible lyrically he's clearly fallen off ... And is now reduced to stealing/biting styles from the likes of Cheif Keef Gucci Mane and a variety of other "lesser" MC's

Nah! Not at all, I thought that when i first listened to it too. I been playing it non-stop since the 4th and I be like "damn, how did I miss that?" lol

There's a good mix of mediocore shit blended with some stellar moments!!
