Nasir giving you a Euro trip and Feds perched like an owl.

Beyonce killed it.

Jay flow wordplay was nice, where the fuck was that energy at the beginning of the album.

2. Picasso Baby- 8/10

3. Tom Ford- 6/10

4. FWMUKNIGI- 7/10 (way too much Ross)

5. Oceans- 8/10 (Jays flow on this what prevented it from being great)

6. FUTW- 6.5/10 Blah

7. SomewhereinAmerica- 9/10 dope

8. Crown- 8/10 another production led track

9. Heaven- 8.5/10

10. Versus- 6/10 waste of time

11. Part II- 9.5/10 B killed it

12. Beach Is Better- 8.5/10 FUCK U JAY FOR THIS COT DAMN TEASE SHIT

13. BBC- 9.5/10 Welcome back Jay-Z flow, Nas went In

14. Jay Z Blue- 9/10 Dope

15. La Familia- 7/10

16. Nickles and Dimes- 7.5/10

I overall about a 8/10 after the 1st listen. He completely lost his flow on some of these joints. Definitely carried by production but whatever. Good album.

You pretty much covered what I was gonna say about this album and co-signed on his lyrical exercise. I think Jay is at a point to where he's adjusted to being the best songwriter instead of trying to showcase he's still the best lyricist (yes it's a difference in songwriting and lyricist), even though he spitted some slick gems, which means he still good his double entendre guns poncok... The production is fucking brimstone no doubt, but it definitely carried him on some songs where he faltered his verbals some. The cohesiveness is what makes this album flow and it's natural not forced. As both a Jay and Nas fan (yes I admit I listen to Nas more) but I can't take away the good quality of this album and I didn't force myself to like songs:

My favs: Holy Grail, Picasso Baby, Oceans, Heaven, BBC, Somewhere In America, Nickels And Dimes, Jay-Z Blue, Crown.

No bias. Just a logical and mature critique by a fan of both regardless of the B/S that goes along with Nas stans and JayHova Witnesses..cut it out and give credit when due.

Both Life Is Good and Magna Carta Holy Grail on heavy rotation. Fuck it.

On a "holiday" playing "Strange Fruit" / If I'mma make it to a "billi" I can't take the same route

......niggas gone catch all these little gems eventually ...

Lines like these are over thought, meaningless and wack.

Fuck all that wordplay shit I'm tryin to hear that crafty flow bobbin and weavin Hov.

The line ain't crafty?....lol Now y'all complaining that this nigga using "too much" wordplay ...

Sure your right bruh...

this nigga can't win with some of y'all cats... Lol

App is up and running and the album came through...

Have to say the whole thing is presented well and it's a complete digital experience...

The lyrics fill the screen when you press play...and a vid with Jay chopping it up with those in the studio to accompany every track...

The app helps you appreciate the concept, and the album in general a lot more...

I take it back, this could be the way music is heading..

It's a better experience than DL from iTunes, .....having the album broken down to you via video is a better experience than buying a cd and reading through the inlay booklet.

The whole concept, name of the album, the deal/promotion was a great idea...

the "album app" might be how artist present music in the near future.

I fully expect any official videos for the singles to be automatically uploaded to the app upon release...and live performances....the possibilities are endless...I wanna buy tickets through this app...

I don't need a classic I just want some great music and Jay delivered.

He faltered on a few tracks flow wise but Jay still got it. It's a few lines in there that make you say Jay is still that nigga when he wants to be.

I can see myself playing a bunch of tracks off this for a long time and I really can't say the same for BP3.

Been blasting BBC and On The Run, sun shining got my girl wit me. This the life nigga

I just think lines like those and the Richard Pryor shit should be left for amateur battle rappers. Shit is witty or whatever but I prefer when he's flowing. You understand what I'm saying? I don't like when he gets too choppy.

So how much do we think this is gonna sell when the regular album drops? 400k first week?

Might do more. His average is 400-500 but this one got a lot of hype and it's been 4 years. I say 600.

600 on top of samsung giving away a million copies is a huge win in 2013. Would be a good look.

Jigga was smart he had a bunch of trap beats for the dumb who are intrigued by the drums then mixed up the rest of the album with some vol 1 jigga and some american gangsta jigga.2nd half of picasso is vol 1 jigga

Then he dropped that real shit about about his baby blue and dumbed down his flow on other songs for these test tube babies and southerners who can't decipher complex bars

I agree with the bolded, thats y there's "universal acclaim" and why i said it took me a sec to get used to this new version of Jay. The ngga did it...he made another Hov....Chief Keef Hov...but fuk, its cool (as long as we dont even think of comparin him to his old self)

@the underlined idk bout all that. Jay coudlnt replicate Vol. 1 anything at this point in his career, and the 2nd half of picasso is NO I.D. all day. its reminiscent of 'Success' from AG

Public Service Announcement: Jay-z's career is officially over....this album is terrible, the production is wack, the flow is boring as fuck which bring down the overall quality of every single song

now the question is, jayz has had two different careers....one of the top rappers from RD to BP, then one of the most overrated after that.....so has anyone ever fallen off more than jayz? considering he's supposed to be one of the top rappers ever i don't think anyone's fallen this far before

but yet you think Eminem is still on, shut the hell up....this album so far is flames

at this point in their career's yes emeinem is better than jayz by far, at least he still flows and makes quality songs....this album just sounds really lazy or just rushed, not really sure but jayz has fallen the fuck off

it's sad when he puts out junk like blueprint 3....but that album crushes this

Woah...people still like/respect eminem?

And for the record fuck jay z

But eminem?....like...seriously?

i didn't bring up eminem, someone else did, but yeah, eminems last album is better than anything jay-z's put out since blueprint

anyone that disagrees shouldn't be listening to rap/hiphop or are just dumb.....music quality just isn't there for jayz

like i can't take this album out for a july 4th party or cookout, theres nothing on it worth bumpin like that

I don't even fuck with jay...but you telling me you gonna put an eminem record on at a cookout/party??? Lmaooo where in the fuck they do that at?

Martin had a dream, Hov gotta team

My chain already heavy, don't let me get a ring

Parades down Flatbush, Confetti on my fur

Turn right on Red Hook, niggas heavy on the curve

See most of my niggas died early twenties or late teens

I'm just trying to come from under the thumb of this regime

1% of a billion more than niggas even seen

Still they wanna act like it's an everyday thing

clean

This whole verse is dope ... Plays on being a form of Dr.Martins dream realized ... Then uses some nice wordplay to describe how if he won a chip with the nets he would bring everything full circle and have a parade ending in Marcy where it all started ...

Also he kinda ethers niggas who were trying to downplay his role as owner of the nets with that 1% line

Hov spittin on here ... Real smooth and easy like ... But still spittin nevertheless
