At that time who? would have stopped dude from selling 5 million records in 2 months

no shots at you but you can tell when niggas just started listening too rap...

Nobody back then could stop this dude...yea diss records could have been made, but them shits would have fell on deaf ears like folks stated, this dude was in his own lane...especially, especially when he got outta jail and California Love dropped..smh..

Jay couldnt end Nas when he was at the height of his career with a diss song (Takeover) on his best album ( Blueprint). Pac had the whole east coast shook if Pac never died the east coast wouldnt have blown up like that. Only east coast artists eating when pac was alive was Biggie, wu-tang, mobb deep and nas other than that pac had a strangle hold on all east coast music.

Pac could never comeback when Nas dissed him. The only one who could go up against 2Pac was Nas.

Also Prodigy shitted on 2Pac with Drop a gem on em. That song is a top 3 diss.

No one

It always kills me when people say Pac wasn't a lyricist. They're just overzealous nostalgia fans of old skool hip hop foreal

Pac weakened the East Coast. If you don't know that then you weren't there and you shouldn't be giving your opinion. Everything wasn't all good for those guys like history nowadays would like you to believe.

Shit really was that serious

I know ppl who still don't really mess with those guys because of the matter, a lot of old heads I know still don't mess with biggie, it's a lot of the younger kids who weren't old enough during the time to realize what happened that like biggie

Folk

you stated this, but who is hearing this record??

When you got a nigga doing 5 million in 2 months off 2 videos..and I'm not even counting how he's all on your TV screen and radio..Who is really checking for an unknown nigga that's making a diss record that most have never heard of??

Niggas down south hadn't even heard of Jay-Z in 96 to be real about the whole situation..

people just dont get the energy and aura around 2pac. its kind of like they dont understand it so they hate on it. kinda like they were born after he died or started listening to hiphop in the 2000s.

jay wasnt even gonna put a dent in pacs armor. and stop acting like pac wasnt a dope rapper

Fam I was in Brooklyn the day Ready To Die dropped, and I'm from the UK...I been on this rap shit for years.

Pac fans think he was god...in actual fact he was an avarage rapper, but as a whole Pac has become an icon. Not just for his music, but some of his strong beliefs.

But he was follower, he followed Suge to his death.

He had a ace in his hand in the fact he fucked Faith....no rapper can come back from that. But if it was a straight lyrically battle, Biggie would have murdered him.

and only Queens niggas heard of 50 Cent when he dropped "Your life's on the line"...

Only South Bronx niggas heard of KRS when he dropped the Bridge is Over...

etc etc

there is the culture and there is the industry...

90's Music West >>>>>East

00's Music South>>>>>East

Now that i think bout it the only time Ny was buzzing with hip hop was when Pac died and that was only for a few years. East Coast had the shortest reign on top of rap of all the regions except of wack ass Midwest hip hop

I believe it too. Back in the 90s when I was a wee-buck, I had an old camp counselor from when I was going to summer camp up Ewing New Jersey was working Security part time at events was telling me how him and his boyz was riding with Pac.

He was joking about how Mobb Deep was so short and I would basically pick his brain about the game. He said himself that Mobb Deep was cool but he wasn't really into them like that because of Pac. He wasn't no Gump Nigga either.

I don't wanna make it sound like some anecdotal shit but it was virtually the same story everywhere I went and everyone I talked to growing up. The only person I could really remember fuckin with Biggie like that was my Uncle from Trenton who lived out PA and his son lol. You should've heard their excuses smh

you shouldve stayed in the UK fam. at the end of the day, when biggie heard hit em up, he thought his career was over. u have more faith in big than big had faith in himself. and pac had more Faith than both yall niggas

But this shows me either pac didn't have long left at the top of the rap game when he died or New York rap was going to be restricted to like 3 artist because if pac stays alive a couple more weeks, he would have jayz and prodigy tearin him a new one on record and nyc in support of it. Pac would have to do more than hit em up to sustain that.

Cosign

Nas is the GOAT. Pac would say the same if he would be alive today. Nas would murder Pac lyrically my friend even Prodigy shitted on Pac. Pac had nothing on Nas and Prodigy back then the only thing Pac had was the mainstream rap and same goes with Biggie. They were mainstream rappers. Jay was not even known back then nas turnt him down he refuse to get on reasonable doubt becuz he saw jay as fake and wack

Fam you do know in 95 Pac was in jail and Biggie took off

Pac could be an average rapper, that's your opinion, nothing wrong with that, but to say the dude wasn't the biggest nigga in rap in 96 is a lie...and to say anybody could have went against him is another done damage is another lie...

What rapper at that time could have went at Pac when he got out of jail and done damage to his career?

Nobody at that time, was like dayum such and such went at Pac on this track...or man such and such giving Pac a run...Dude was in his own lane..Lol...
